We got snow...while I was testing.. it was big white wet flakes there, barely showed on the grass and then was about done by 8...
BUT, when I got close to home it was white... over 2-3 inches on the grass... roads were clear but the ground was covered. It is still very white this morning... and it is 25 out now... down to 23 overnight. Today is supposed to be in the 30's so will stick around for a day or 2....
It is still winter.....

Obsessively checking the weather like it's going to make any difference. Would love for it to snow, but it's hardly in the 10 day forecast.
Short week of work this week. Should honestly go figure out what I am teaching.

Another week of weather you all want and I'd give it to everyone if I could. Lows in the high 50s to low 60s, highs in the mid-70s to <COUGH> 83 and clear. It's freaking FEBRUARY.
Done lambing until fall. Time to get ranch work done, and LOTS of weed whacking (weeks of full days worth). Too much slow to do it any other way.

Morning all! Currently 44°F and calling for more rain through tomorrow. It rained over night, we really need it, we're so far behind on moisture. They're also calling for a big dump of snow in the Cascades. I think I read the snow pack is at 40% of what it should be this time of year, not good. I hope it dumps big time.

We did not get wintry precipitation, woo! Cold, miserable rain, but nothing frozen.

Mid 40s here today, but when you add the humidity and wind it's not conducive to elective tasks.

Pulled my lower back, I think something in my groin too, trip to ER on Monday, crying all the way, writhing in agony in the waiting room. Got in a room, son said they gave 4 vials of drugs, I don't remember. They prescribed hydrocodone for pain that made me violently ill. I couldn't take it. Went to a PA on Thursday, he said it would be better in a couple of weeks, sent me for xray on Friday, would not give me anything for pain. My preacher is a PA, I contacted him Saturday, and he gave me Tramadol and a long acting strong anti inflammatory. Finally I got some relief. Son had come twice a day taking care of bottle babies, sheep, dogs and horse. I can't do anything. I sat outside yesterday for a little while, i was exhausted. Carson is sticking close to me, I make him go outside with my son, but he isn't happy about it.

OUCH!!!!!!
Wow I hope you're feeling relief soon.

Already on my calendar... I mark it as soon as I get new calendar... always 1st sat in May and 3rd Sat in Sept.... I'm READY....
Notice they no longer call it Poultry Swap... it's a Trade Day !!!!!

"Trade Day" seems more appropriate now, from what I've seen. Yep, calendar marked. I'll be sure to break in any new shoes before I go! Lotsa walking.

Good evening everyone!
Hope y'all had a blessed day!
Sick calf is showing slight improvement. Dairy friend thinks he's aspirating when nursing and wants me to try bucket feeding him for a week then put him back on mom. I think he's lost his marbles thinking that calf will cooperate and drink from a bucket after being on a cow for so long. I'm waiting to see how he progresses with the meds he's been given. I haven't seen any aspirating while nursing. With slight improvement I'm going to keep the pain and anti-inflammatories up for another couple days and see what happens. Of course we're expecting a storm starting tomorrow so that should undo what little we've gotten accomplished.
Packing is going ok at the moment. Making progress. My emotions are all over the map right now. Emotional seeing rooms starting to get cleared out. That's a good thing but it seems to take my breath away. Then new neighbors are moving into the house across the street and today the "dad" was screaming at the "mom" (I'm assuming) in spanish while the "son" stood around not saying a word. "Mom" looked like a woman who is used to the yelling at the least. I stood looking at them from our fence until they saw me then walked back to the house. I didn't hear much more yelling after that. A new trainer is moving in horses today at the training facility. Not sure how they will be yet. We've had a lot of problems over there over the years too. Owner says to let him know if anything happens and he'll put a stop to it. He's very wishy washy so you never know how he'll handle things. Praying we can get out of here quickly. Get this place sold and never look back.
Going to do chores and get DH off to work then start packing again. Didn't get much done on entering taxes today because DH woke up very early so we started packing early.
