Good evening all! :frow
Hope y'all had a great day!
We didn't get the expected rain so far. Got all outdoor chores done which means we probably won't get the rain at all now. 😂
Calf is doing a little better again today. Actually had a mini rodeo at injection time tonight. That was a nice surprise. We'll keep at it for a while longer as long as he's progressing in the right direction. Nice to see some positive steps finally.
Been a while (I think) since I've given a feral kitty update. She's in the house. Not sure if I've even updated that. Been in the house about two weeks now. Last week she finally started making progress. This week we can pet her and she's mostly comfortable. The last few days she's even purred a little with petting. She's still not feeling quite well and has a sneeze but her goopy eyes are clear now. It's just a sneeze at the moment. Hopefully the Lysine will help with that. She's eating well and seems to be completely healed up from her spay. She lays around a lot. I'm sure she's tired of being in a cage. Hopefully only another week or two and we'll start transitioning her out of the cage and into the house. Our other cats are relatively ok with her now in the cage but that will certainly change once she's out. Going to be hard with stacks of 1/2 packed boxes everywhere. We'll make the best of it some how.
Still working on packing the trailer as well as trying to get everything entered into the computer for our tax apt. Still have 3 weeks to get the entries done so I'm trying not to stress on it too much just keep picking away at it. That time frame will be shorter once I get on the road for another run home though.
I'd better get back to entering these taxes.
Y'all have a great night and a fantastic wednesday! :hugs

Coffee is ready. I am taking my neighbor to the VA clinic today. brakes are out on their SUV. He got the parts yesterday. My son is taking my sister in law to therapy today. I can't pick up her walker and put it in the backseat of my car. I talked to her a couple of days ago and told her when son goes back on a job, i can take her, but she will have to use the lightweight tri-fold aluminum walker. And so it goes. I have to make a feed run tomorrow and get a 1200 pound superbag for me and a 500 pound bag for @Margali . I won't be able to unload any of it. I'll have to rely on Layne and/or neighbor Charles. phooey.

@Baymule ... So how IS your back progressing -- better, same? Of course, add in hernia because "why not?" Non use is wretched for you & your farm life 😵‍💫🤔 Do you even know, thinking back, how you accomplished this self destruction? Not that it'll help you to not do it again 🤣 you being you!

Chilly morning but upper 50s later :celebrate yummy coffee.

Weather supposed to be 50-60s for another week. Hopefully even longer! I'm ready to ditch winter.

Yeah I know what i did. Days and days of gorgeous weather after the ice storm. Sunny, beautiful and I was outside every day. I got fixated on building a pen for Max the horse. He had been on a field that I had to walk through the sheep field to get to him. Then came the ice storm, a neighbor kindly let me put him in her barn. Afterwards, I dragged round pen panels to the back yard to make him a small but better location, pen. The shelter in it was inadequate, plus being low. Son suggested that I clean out a shed, put up panels and put Max there. Great idea. He also used the grapple on his tractor to pull up a stretch of fence where I want the shipping containers to go. I bent over to pull staples out of the posts, dragged the posts out and used the tractor to flip over a section that was twisted. Had help cleaning out the shed, turned to see where I was backing up the truck and felt my back say no. I did lots of hard heavy work with out taking a day or two to rest up inbetween. Oh, and I wormed ALL the sheep on the same day, instead of doing it in 2 days. I just over did it day after day after day. I reckon I won't be doing THAT again.........

Coffee made, cats fed, Caleb had his yard walk and breakfast, will take him out for a ride in a bit. He's lying QUIETLY at my feet, want to encourage that!

Going to make bread later, too. I'm down to a heel, plus I'm meeting my friend/former coworker tomorrow morning to give her eggs, and she likes my bread.
