I mean, can't be worse than bison, after all I could hold a seasonal bison tossing competition for tourist who want to pet the "assault cow". :gig

Well our rains exceeded the 1/2" suggested. :idunno it was getting dark when I got home, so just judging from road puddles & ditches we got at least double. Guess tomorrow will tell. Foggy drive, too. Warm 52 now at 10pm.
It's soppy here, liquid mud all over the yard.

Watch your step!

Hey all! :frow
Made really good progress on taxes this afternoon. Past the first quarter and on my way through the second. :celebrateIt's draining but feels so good to get it done.I see it might actually be possible to get it done before I leave for home.
Speaking of home. Cameras are still up. :woot:woot Weather is supposed to be raining all week next week. We're trying to figure out my trip times. Now thinking may wait through next week and maybe leave the end of the week putting me there when it's possibly better weather. That would allow me to be here for granny to calve and figure out a plan for her and her calf also. I'd be gone for the next two beef heifer/cow to calve but back again before the last jersey calves. Then I'll probably be stuck here for a few weeks at the least taking care of her/them. After this coming months calving's we are done until september. Should be able to finish up the move pretty quickly after this coming month.
Treated the sickly calf again. He's improving slowly. Still hoping he has a chance.
DH made some packing and sorting progress while I did cow stuff. We also brought the oldest cow in who's due next week. She gave us an easy chance to get her in without everyone else. She doesn't look close yet but could use some Jenny Craig and should have already been on it. She's got rolls on top of her rolls. She's an older cow with some joint issues carrying a replacement heifer for us. This is the cow we're debating letting her calve out then retiring her and letting the jersey heifer who will calve in a few weeks have her calf. We're feeling more and more like it wouldn't be kind for her to make the journey with her joint issues. Especially to only be processed a few months after the trip at weaning. It's a hard decision as to what's right to do. She's a really good cow and a great mom.
DH is off to work. It's our friday so we should get some pretty good packing done the next two nights. Would really like to have the trailer pretty well packed. This trip I'm taking the side by side. It's time. We could really use it at the new place to work on fences etc. It will take up a fair bit of space. Already have some cabinets loaded and some furniture. Going to sound funny but since the camera's have come back up we are both feeling pushed to get going again. Can't really explain it. Just really nice to see there's a place to call home I guess.
I guess I'd better get back to taxes for a bit then get animals fed.
Y'all have a blessed rest of your night! :hugs

Coffee is ready, going for second cup. It's really nice weather, I look at it but do nothing. Son is finishing up stuff he is doing at his house. He ordered a wheel kit for moving shipping containers. Mount them on one end, pick up other end and push. Put pads and blocks down and put end down. May have to use jacks, dunno. Me and a friend jacked up his two 40' shipping containers and placed pads and blocks under them. It was enough for me, don't want to do that again and of course now I can't anyway. I'm getting closer to getting them moved, on blocks and then I can organize my tools!!!!! I may have to carry them one at a time, I don't care. I'll have to get help moving my red roll away tool box and another heavy cabinet, I couldn't move them even if I wasn't all screwed up.

That's it....you can see "home" ! 🥰 Post a pic of granny cow -- wed like to see her 😁

Park tractor with FEL by them, put into FEL...drive to new location, remove one by one. You can raise loader to waist height and pick out like from a shelf. Might be slower but, less back strain. Lower it and sit for lower shelves. Your not gonna have the containers set for a while anyway -- more body repair time. By the way, hope you are improving with back issues :hugs

Haven't been outside yet but, looking out it's wet! It's also overcast. Upper 40s suggested, not bad. I'd prefer sunshine. Rumor is that the weather for weekend will be upper 60s & sunny....can't wait! 👍😁 I'll celebrate Feb gone & March arriving nicely. For now chores & off to work.

Son has plans on setting containers soon. He has pulled up an 80' section of the old roping chute, mowed down the blackberry canes that were 10 feet tall and it is clear, clean and gorgeous. Yeah, I know they will come back from the roots, I have spray for that. DIE YOU DAM*ED THORNY THINGS!!!!

NICE to have son to help! Of course, you rehabbed his house a couple yrs ago 👍 good trade off.

Just came in -- 1/2" suggested yesterday turned into a hefty 1.5" +/- 🤔 guess the system felt like moving my way. It's very wet. But mud only surface stuff, pretty much soaked on deeper. That's good. Grasses are popping out of dormancy now. :clap

It’s walkabout Friday at my house. Preceded by walkabout Wednesday and walkabout Thursday. Getting my steps in and repairing fence and filling holes. I have one more get-out to find but it involves about a mile of fence. Not much distance when I was younger but more of a challenge now, especially with hilly terrain. The sheep got out (Hubbs left a panel open while filling his deer feeder). But they were in a heavily wooded area away from the road or neighbors. They were easily retrieved. Poked my arm with some wire. Based on the bleeding my blood pressure isn’t any better. Dang I don’t want to see a doctor. **skips rant about doctors, weight loss and general curmudgeonliness- don’t trust anyone under forty**.

Looks like a high of 62 today and lots of sunshine.

Today I'm just hanging around, waiting for hubs to let me know when he needs a hand with something on the remodel.

He's golfing tomorrow, so I'm planning on starting a loaf of sourdough tonight. Wanted to do it today, but didn't want any timing issues with helping him.

Started some yogurt, love my Instant Pot for this, set it and forget it for 7 hours. Then in the fridge overnight, place in the strainer for 2 hours and Greek yogurt is ready.
