Good afternoon all

I've been kind of laying low lately. I've been checking in on everyone but not posting much. In a funk I guess. I've been doing more packing for a future trip home. Still haven't left for the currently waiting trailer load. I'm frustrated. Heifer got udder rot in 3 places. Not uncommon especially with so much edema and usually with a few treatments with my home mad salve it heals and goes away. Occasionally it's a little tricky (like right now) with the edema not subsiding fast enough. 2 of the 3 spots are almost completely healed. 1 she absolutely will not leave alone. As soon as she can get access to it she's licking it non stop. I've tried all kinds of things to try and give the salve a chance to help. She's a good girl and thinks I'm hurting her and not trying to help her but golly I'm frustrated with her. She is currently dragging her lead rope again just so I can catch her to treat her or bring her in to milk her. Milking is a challenge with her very small teats and so much edema. The two grafts are doing their part ok but all 3 calves are struggling to nurse her still. The small teats make it challenging enough for them with the edema and then when she lets down for them she floods them and they choke. I have to get creative to milk and it's been such a process it doesn't help train her. We're doing ok I'm just frustrate with the situation. Probably more because It's keeping me here right now and I want to get this move finished. She really is a nice heifer. Reminds me of her mother. I can't blow this time with her as she's going to hopefully replace her mother when she retires. Wish her teats were bigger and placement a little better but placement may improve once the edema is down more. Her calf has had the scours for a few days now. It's not getting any worse but not getting better yet either. Treating it and trying to keep it manageable. The sudden weather change from hot to colder and storming isn't helping. Keeping on treatment schedule. Hopefully I can get him back in good health soon. I had started packing my truck to get on the road when things turned to "I can't leave" again. DH got new speakers for my main truck The speakers have been blown since we got it years ago. Wasn't the worst thing but driving days and nights on end it does get old. As he was finishing installing them one of my window regulators broke. I had told him I thought it was acting slow but it wasn't having issues going up and down just seemed slower. Well it gave out as he was checking clearance and putting the door back together. What are the odds!? He said it likely would have broken on my next trip and it was actually a blessing it broke when it did. It's an original so that's pretty impressive it's lasted this long as it is. So he left the door apart and we waited for the part to come in. He put it all back together and it's working great now. Then I find out he ordered me a new CB to go in as well. He's took my cheapie out and is putting in my older ranch truck and putting this new one in. Come to find out it cancels out the vehicle interference noise that I've always had. It's so nice and it even has a NOA radio in it. That's going to be really nice on my travels. The one in my other truck died a few years ago. It was what I had in my semi when I drove truck. It was very expensive at the time and lived a good long life. Now it's being replaced with the cheapie. It's mostly just used on the ranch anyways and that truck has no issue with electronic interference like my newer truck does. So it's a win win for both trucks and I'm very happy he surprised me with it. Other than rotating my tires the truck is ready to go. Just need to throw in my clothes etc. DH will go ahead and rotate my tires this weekend just so it's done in case I can leave next week.
Had to go to the new neighbors a few days ago. Their dogs have been constantly in the road and trying to be on our property. Not a lick of english. The older lady is super nice but we couldn't communicate well. I used a translate app to tell her she needed to keep her dogs home. She couldn't understand well enough to speak into the app so I could understand what she was trying to say. She talked to me 100 miles an hour and I don't know a word she said. It's so frustrating. So far since they've kept the dogs home but I don't expect that to last. I think she was trying to say the man there who I assume maybe is her son (the one who screams horribly at the younger woman) tied the dogs up but they chew through the tie. Previous people there used the same excuse as if that excuses the issue. They also clearly brought in a bunch of intact cats. Spent over 30 years keeping the cat population in check here at our expense and each new tenant there brings in new ones and refuses to spay/neuter them or keep them home. There's tom cat pee on everything again. It's so infuriating.
Speaking of ferals. The one we have added to our home is coming along. She's starting to get time out of her pen although it's been a bit of a challenge. Got her ear mites cleared up which has helped her dramatically. We now can pet her and scratch on her and she rolls over to have her belly rubbed. Once she's out in the living room however she reverts back to her wild ways. I've had to wait until she goes in her pen for food or use her potty box to get her back in her cage for the night. Not sure how many more times she'll do that. She's also a climber so she's having to learn where she's allowed to climb and not climb. Counters and tables are off limits. She's really enjoying the toys and the scratchers though. She's still a work in progress but coming along slowly.
I need to get to some chores. Y'all have a fantastic afternoon!
