Coffee anyone ?

My local organic meat source will be offering raw milk, cow or goat.

Which should I try?

I have not been able to tolerate cow's milk, ice cream, most dairy for years. I've wondered if a pure form might be tolerated.
I think @farmerjan will have better insight than me on this but I do know that some people tolerate goat milk but can't cow cow. Having said that most people who are "lactose intolerant" can drink A2A2 cows milk just fine. It's the beta caseins that are different. Easier to digest. If you get raw cows milk you have the option of taking the cream off if you desire and using it or making ice cream or butter and still leaving enough to drink. Goat milk doesn't really separate like cows milk. Which ever you try start slow.

@fuzzi I will add that I hope you can drink either kind of milk. I can't imagine not being able to have dairy products. Having our own fresh milk was the best (and sometimes worst :hide) decision of our lives. I don't think I could ever go back to pasteurized "milk". Times like right now I question my sanity for having the milk cows ourselves but I truly do recommend raw milk. Stick with A2A2 until you know if you can have it or not if you go cow's milk. Goat's milk is naturally A2A2 so you are good there automatically.

I'd try the goat milk... it is often more tolerated.... get a qt or even just a pint... and use it COLD.... I tried some of @Mini Horses goat milk a couple years ago and was surprised that it was not much different in taste from raw cow's milk.... just does not separate out the butterfat very easily.... but it was very drinkable....
As @RR Homestead said,,,, start slow......if the goat milk works, then try the cow milk....

I love my goats milk. I've been a big milk drinker all my life. I prefer whole milk, not the watered down stuff. Not milking right now & wondering if my fav milker is even bred! Wow. Bad thought. Better get another gal up & begin a milk share.

Decent day temp wise. Going to low 80s again. Was that yesterday & got a little warm in the house. Opened a window some to cool it off. Left it open last night for the cooler breeze. I'll shut it before I leave to retain the temps. Yeah, going to work the jobs I didn't go to yesterday. 🙃 it was a nice day at home!

It's a hot tea morning. Coffee just sounded too harsh for some reason. I'll do a quick water trough check & nose count before I leave. Have a couple errands/shop stops to do while I'm out & on way home later. Thought about them yesterday but wasn't anything that couldn't wait. Didn't even start the car! Yep, it was a lazy day and relaxing.

I wouldn't try it and leave the house. I've not made it across the hall way.

Goat. Try the goat and limited. The Lactose in store bought Holstein cow milk and fresh raw Holstein cow milk is the same.

Gonna be a warm one heading to 82. :( (average high for April is 73). Getting things in order for Easter dinner tomorrow. Leg of lamb defrosting deciding what to do with it. Then putting together Kit's first Easter Basket. 🥰
The hills here are all brown. Sigh, won't see green until maybe November?? We're usually green until early May.
A day early for this (once things get moving tomorrow I'd probably forget to post it!)....
Happy Easter a day early...

Rainy day here. A slow moving system is just west of us a few miles. Chores are done for the time being. Caddo and Sophie are sore from a brief walkabout and swim. Getting older ain’t for sissies. Contemplating a storm shelter (again). In ground cellars scare me because a neighbor drowned in hers years ago. Plus beneath my sandy soil at varying depths are rocks. Big ones if the ones scattered around the yard decoratively are any indication. In a perfect world I’d have a fully appointed hobbit-hole with a polite concierge to notify me when to remove to said structure and have tea (hot or cold depending on circumstances) ready. Iced tea might be a good fan fiction short. “You put WHAT in it?”
Happy Easter everyone!

I live in hurricane country. Running from a hurricane with a disabled hubbie is almost impossible. We opted for this:

Looks like prices have risen considerably since we purchased ours - but I was determined to feel safe - and we do. We rode out Hurricane Beryl in it a couple years ago and were never worried about our safety while trees were coming down all around us.
