Coffee anyone ?

Hey everyone. :frow
Hope y'all had a good day.
It's been busy here.
Sitting here anxiously waiting for the sheriff to finally show up at our new home. Someone was caught on camera this afternoon on a motorcycle riding around our house. Right through the front yard. Looked like a younger fella. No clue who he is or what he was doing there. My stomach has been sick with worry. With some of the camera's down we don't know where all he went. Sheriff was called but has yet to check on things. I'm trying to be patient as he appears to be gone so it's not an emergency and he didn't get in the house or basement. I can no longer see the barn or where one of the trucks is parked. I'm trying to believe it's a neighbor kid. I reached out to the previous owners and sent them a picture. They think it might be the neighbor's kid at the end of the road. They said he's come over and helped them out a time or two but they aren't sure if that's who it was. They happen to be in town so offered to go over and talk to them and see if it was the son. Let them know they no longer live there and that we have camera's up. I really don't want to get off on the wrong foot with our neighbors. Calf seems to be recovered enough for me to leave if DH can manage to treat the udder rot on the heifer. I think he's decided he will do it so I can get on the road in the next few days. Looks like the calf had white muscle disease. Did not see that coming. I'm going to start packing my day to day things and all the paperwork I'll need there to start transferring vehicles etc. I know they really don't like vehicles transferred there until we are permanently there but most of our renewals are coming due here in CA and I do not want to spend thousands on renewals for a month or two to just then transfer and pay them again at home. Hopefully I don't get too much grief from them. The insurance and the motor vehicle people both were a little hesitant for me to transfer things and insure them there with a CA DL. I have pretty serious reasons for keeping my CA DL for as long as possible while being back and forth in CA. They have no idea how badly I want to leave everything CA behind but I have to keep a few things a while longer. I really hope this is going to be the start of the final push. DH is getting one of our push mowers that's been sitting cleaned up and ready to go. Not enough trailer space for the rider just yet. Next trip hopefully. So I'll take the push mower and do what I can while I'm there. Going to buy a new gas weed eater there as well. DH has already picked one out. We are excited about being in a state with so many gas options.
Well I guess I'd better finish chores. It's starting to storm at home. Hopefully nothing was broken into and open. I really don't think anything was by a single young man on a motorcycle. I just worry he was casing the place. Sigh. Hopefully soon I'll be on my way there.
Y'all have a blessed night and day. :hugs

Thank you! 💗

Drove almost 10 hours, almost 11 hours travel time. We decided to go through Colorado and I'm glad we did. We took highway 287 (I think) between Loveland and Laramie, that's where we are for the night.

It was such a beautiful drive. Stacked rocks and plateaus with red dirt. Ruggedly beautiful country. Here's a little look into the differences between my husband and I. Me, "Those rocks are so amazing...I keep thinking there should be rock giants playing catch with them". Hubs, "I was thinking about all the hiding spots where you can have shoot outs, I can hear the bullets zinging off the rocks". I have a mind for fantasy, he thinks westerns...lol

We'll be stopping at Twin Falls 8+ hrs or more likely Boise 10hrs, for the night tomorrow. That will give us about 6 hours for the final leg on Friday! We'll see how we're feeling when we reach TF.

Have a great night everyone! 💗
😂 Love that. I think of westerns when I see them too. I love that view! I really like seeing that in AZ/NM when I went that way going home. Don't go that way now that I know the roads are far superior the other way but that was some of my favorite scenery.
Y'all be safe finishing your journey. :hugs

You know this, but worrying and rushing won't change anything. Make sure everything for the trip is secure, and be aware on the drive.

I can't recall, do you have a dog you could take with you on this trip? The company might be a comfort for you.

I honestly think of westerns too, but the rock giants popped into my mind first...lol

We went through Dodge City, Kansas and drove over the Cimmarron river twice. You can't help but think of westerns in that area.

Every time I crest a hill, I'm wondering what beautiful sight God is going to show me next. His creation leaves me in awe.

@RR Homestead how frustrating and worrisome. Hope it was just the neighbor kid buzzing around and nothing more. 🤞
Looking like a good day here 50-70 and right now beautifully overcast. Yeah- never thought I'd say overcast was beautiful .
Might get some ranch work done, my knee is a lot better - not 100% and I ~think I'm good until ___________. So much to do while it's cool.

I started the day with a sour peach Powerade. Disposed of former ewe. Found another nest of eggs to evaluate. “Who’s laying these eggs?… I don’t know, it must be something we haven’t seen yet.” Obscure movie reference. Caddo and Sophie dug through road base to go on walkabout. Back now expecting breakfast. Walking pasture in a bit to look for toxic plants, repairs.

8:30 4/16. Posted to @SageHill 'cause I was lost!

So coffee is especially good right now. First cup and I've already rounded up 7 goats & fixed 2 broken fence boards! 😖 Work scheduled for today but I'm rethinking that right now :old it might become a home day. Old boards, new fence. I'd like to wait until the weekend when it'll be cooler.

Yesterday was super hot -- 90-92 & relief finally came about 9pm as it cooled into low 80s. Was only top of 60s overnight but a good breeze & open windows brought that through the house! Was almost midnight when I got to bed, awoke at 3ish to find a cover. Right now it's lovely 72, in & out. Will close windows shortly to trap the cool. Suggested 88-90 for 3 days, then Sunday drop to upper 60s for a few -- this is crazy!!!!!! 😳 We're all thinking the same and the roller coaster just speeds on.

And...yes, I'm at home today!! Wooowee. At least I know where I am now :old hell to get old.
