Coffee anyone ?

Checked on the broody, still one chick, two eggs. I'll give them another day. I once had a staggered hatch of three days!

Caleb had a very good walk at the park.

I've noticed a slight oil leak on my SUV. Took over to my mechanic. He said he is very busy, slammed. He asked me to bring it by next week. He thinks it's gaskets, not a 60 minute job. Oh well.

Might run the mower over a few areas, we'll see. It's getting hot outside.

Really cool pic

Saw first snake today. Pretty, young black snake -- so it got to live. 😁 Maybe 20" long. Not a snake lover so it was lucky. But it had better leave the shed! Considered relocating it but a big roo scared it off to under something.
I saw a snake Tuesday evening. Wisp was playing with something in the grass. I investigated as the ferals have been killing anoles (lizards). It was a small, very small black snake. pencil sized. I picked it up, saw the orange ring on its neck, then placed it in my herb planter which is thick with parsley and oregano. It would be safe there, temporarily.

Oh, wait, just remembered I saw a brown snake a few days ago when I flipped over a planter, a little bigger than a pencil. He disappeared into a hole. Both brown and Ring-necked snakes eat insects, slugs, etc. I'm not afraid of them, they are like garter snakes, mild mannered.

You know this, but worrying and rushing won't change anything. Make sure everything for the trip is secure, and be aware on the drive.

I can't recall, do you have a dog you could take with you on this trip? The company might be a comfort for you.
You are right and I'm trying to be mindful of that. Thank you for the reminder. :hugs
Sadly this is the first time in my life I've not had a dog. We lost our two to cancer and we decided not to get a puppy/new dog when we are trying to move. Had I known it would drag on this long I probably would have insisted we get new pups. It's incredibly hard for me especially as the dogs are my company most of the time when DH is either sleeping or working and they are part of my security system here too.

Good morning all! :frow
Just getting home from the dairy. They needed help tonight. I'm beat and struggling to stay awake so forgive me if this doesn't make sense. I didn't sleep well today (technically yesterday) which isn't helping.
This morning the sheriff still hasn't shown up to check our house/barn etc. I called back and it turned out the dispatcher didn't actually send an office out to check. He put a not for an officer to drive by if they happen to be in the area to "make their presence known". Really? I specifically asked for an officer to check and be sure nothing was broken into. :heThe good news is the previous owners went by the neighbors first thing this morning and it did turn out to be their son. He was embarrassed when they showed him the photo I'd sent them off the camera. Apparently they didn't know that they property had been sold. I honestly believe the previous owners probably didn't tell them even though they are the ones who they re-homed their donkey with when they sold their cattle to move. Hopefully the previous owners didn't give them the impression we were mad but I do plan to go introduce myself next trip if the opportunity shows itself. Do not want to get off on the wrong foot with the neighbors.
I went and picked up more horse hay today to be sure there is enough until I get home from my trip. Also a couple more bags of pellet stove pellets since there's supposedly more rain coming here.
Calf is still acting like he's all better. Hopefully he stays that way. The other two as well. Picked up some spray that has been working on udder rot at the dairy. They gave me a bit to try. Hopefully it helps. I'd really like to not have to have DH doctoring that twice a day. It's a messy job, the heifer really doesn't appreciate it and he's got enough to do. Especially when I'm not here. The plan is still on to leave this weekend sometime. We'll see how we do tomorrow getting ready and check the weather again. Make a decision from there.
I hope you all have a blessed friday!

:hugsTo each and every one of you!
