Coffee anyone ?

@drstratton -- welcome home! There's no place like home (but seeing the grands is soo special).
Up around 4 out the door by 5:30 to judge a scentwork trial (think detection). Home 3:30p -- trial went great, on my feet all day - exhausted.
Thank you!💗 Agreed, it was very hard to drive away. 🙁

Sounds like a fun, but long day. Hopefully you get to kick your feet up now.

Praise the Lord for safe travels! Glad you are home safely. 💕

Glad it’s better now. That doesn’t sound like a good part of the trip. Hope you have no more pain from it. 🙏
Thank you! 💗

It's good for now, until it happens again. I've done it about 5 times, but until this last time, I've been able to put it in myself. Once you do this, it's easier for it to happen again. I need to do some strengthening exercises for it.

We're moderate & some dumb arse set fire to a large debris pile :he and we're in ban on non containerized burn. Soooo, 100 acres later, 0ver 60 firefighters from several districts had it contained. They charged him with "careless damage by fire".

That was Thur night. Friday, another 40 acres about 15 miles away -- same thing. :idunno:oops::th:he:he

FORTUNATELY no houses burned or people injured. In first one, 2 families were evacuated for safety "in case". Their view isn't real nice now & it's smelly!
We're under an open fire ban, too.

There's always a few that believe the rules don't apply to them.

Good saturday afternoon all! :frow
Up early packing for my next run home. We practically emptied the deck of the trailer last night. Put the riding mower in front of the side by side I'm taking. Took the two stacker rabbit cages out to make the space for the mower. Ended up packing all the remaining boxes I had packed from the house after reloading things. Worked out pretty well. Looking at leaving either sunday night or monday night. Not sure I can be fully packed and ready by sunday night but that's what I'm shooting for. Not feeling excited but I think that's just stress. Was so infuriating early this morning. We were working on finishing up loading boxes and we both started smelling a chemical smell. Look at the neighboring vineyards that had moved in some years ago and yep. Spraying pesticides and it was covering the valley in it. It's several times a year now. We both started feeling sick. I will be so glad to be away from the vineyards. It's impossible to be poison/pesticide free here now. All the laws and regulations this state has and they allow this to happen regularly. I can't imagine how much the animals breath in and eat. Still have a headache and congestion today. Not sure if it's all from that or not.
DH did all the chores last night. He thinks he can manage now so that's good. It's mostly just feeding, checking on everyone and doctoring the heifers udder rot. It's a lot to do when he's also working but I know he'll manage. I've got everything stocked up and set up as easy as possible for him so he should be ok. Sure going to miss him. Already feeling it and I haven't even left yet. It was really sweet last night. We were talking about plans at home while we were repacking the trailer and for the first time that I can think of he said "when we get home". :loveHe's calling it home now too. I truly pray this is the start of the final push now. Will try to keep posting at least until I get on the road. I'm likely to pretty much drive straight through so there may be a few days I don't post. I'm hoping to take it a tiny bit easier this trip but I also know myself and once I start driving I'll want to get there and get done. I'll for sure be taking a break to stop at Buc-ee's though. :clap:clapTexted our insurance gal who has been so kind and helpful to us already. She only lives 10 minutes from us. We're going to get together for a meal or something while I'm in town. Looking forward to meeting someone for real. At some point I need to go to town anyways. I've never been to town. Only to the house and from the house. 😂
I guess I'd better get back to packing. Y'all have a blessed rest of your day!:hugs

I hope you'll start a journey thread once you get all settled. Hope you get on the road at the perfect time. :hugs

Speaking of seeing Grands, DD gave me the green light for a few days together in August. They won't know about job requirements for DSIL until they move in mid July so I just picked the first availability in August, and will hope for the best. I reserved a 2 bedroom cabin, with 2 bathrooms (!), full kitchen, etc. in Buckhorn, KY.

I want to see my girls in person!
:fl

@fuzzi if SIL has job conflict, at least the girls can visit 🥰

My DGD borrowed my truck, to get hers worked on. Thought maybe a week 🤔. Now it's a month!! I need my truck to haul some things to the dump, so I'll arrange to borrow it back. 🤷

And cool for few days 68* at get up is high for today and next 3. Whoopee! 90 +/- all last week. 50 this week. So erratic. Alaska to get huge snowfall, cold sweeping Canada and into USA. Frost will ruin a lot of tree fruiting & young crop plants. It'll show up in food prices soon. Around here, strawberries are a big crop and between rain shortages & cold nights, they're suffering. Overcast, looks like rain, feels like rain but, it probably won't hit the ground. Absorb into atmosphere.

Chores are done. I'm enjoying hot tea right now. Plan to go hold the new kids born yesterday. Imprinting them this young makes for easier handling later. They'll be sold but, don't want wild ones. Still haven't gotten the yard cut :hide and really need to do that!
