Coffee anyone ?

Thank God for watching over you on the road!
Amen! 🙌 He blessed with me good weather and safe travels. Even with all the tire drama.
That's one heck of a trip!! Let's see, could have been worse -- THAT should make you feel better.🤣

Glad you got there. This is actually your first in person visit, right?? Woohoo 🥳👍🥰
I try and tell myself that. 😂
Thank you. Me too. No. This is my second trip. First trip was during christmas. The previous owners were still living here though and it really didn't feel like ours. Not their fault. They needed a place to stay for a bit longer due to an accident. DH has been here once since we purchased it also. Last month I think it was. Coming in this trip was different. No one here. Opened up the house to find DH had moved some furniture in and put some back together. Seeing a few of our own things made it really sink in I think. After I woke up from a short nap earlier (too much daylight comes in the blinds) I got to work. About 1/2 of the trailer is unloaded now. Sure is nice to have the side by side to move things around. Got the non functioning camera's down and got on chat with support. After a frustrating chat they determined the camera's were dead. No kidding. 🤦‍♀️I started off telling them all the details I knew they needed and what I had done and they still couldn't figure things out. Ended up giving us a refund for the camera's and a discount on the replacements that I had already purchased and brought with me. Got the new camera's activated and up. We'll see how they look in the day but so far they are doing well. Hopefully they last this time.
Set up the trap for the skunk under the front porch. Hopefully I can catch it. It sure has dug things up and has a decent burrow under there. DH and I will get it broken down when we are actually here and will cut some weed cloth to go under there as well. There's some sort of native climber that is thriving under there and starting to reach through the deck boards.
No more ticks so far but my skin is still crawling. 😂 I did spray my pants with my home made spray. Hopefully it works. I'll get the mowing done tomorrow. Hopefully that will help too. DH is going to call first thing in the morning and find out if the weed eater we're wanting to buy is in stock or if it needs to be ordered. I'll mow and finish unloading the trailer tomorrow before the rains set in. I can weed eat between breaks in the rain hopefully.
So far the animals are doing well. DH is doing an excellent job. After going around the property a little bit this afternoon I am starting to picture where animals will go here. Getting a bit of idea's as to what comes next. It's starting to feel like we are actually moving.
Went to the neighbors. Met them. The son is who trespassed last week. Father is very nice. Apparently mom doesn’t speak English. I don’t speak Russian so I probably won’t be able to communicate with her. When son who trespassed met me I could tell he wanted to run away. Dad made it pretty clear son knew the previous owners sold the place and that he figured it was ok because no one was living here yet. “Boys will be boys” I keep hearing. I’m not mad necessarily but I do not want him/them coming to help I don’t think. If he knowingly was snooping around because someone wasn’t yet living here to me that says he’s not trustworthy. Maybe I’m wrong. Going to think on it a few days. The dad did offer to help if I needed it but I told him I was doing fine for now.
The pastures are amazing. The feed that’s growing is stunning. I think I’m going to try and find someone to do a bailing before the cattle come. Can put some up for winter and get the pastures a bit under control.
Well I’m going to try and go to bed. Hope y'all had a fantastic day! Happy Thursday all!

@RR Homestead, forgot you went before. Well, different now that no one is living there 🤫

Coffee is almost done. Then another work day

Before I left yesterday I see 2 goats out and a third climbing a fence 😳 Ran and got her off, saw it was a post that looked ok but broken just under ground. She knew, I didn't. Added a t-posts & will remove wooden later -- won't give to her weight now. Frustrated her! 😋 Take other 2 to a different gate area & in they go. Before I could get to my truck, they were beside me 🫨😖 Back again! Watched & they displayed their unbelievable skill at sliding thru the pole gate. This one didn't have the extra pole to make a smaller space. Yeah, shrinkflation efforts by gate makers. Save cost of a pole, keep price same.🤬 Anyway, grabbed bale twine, a roll of chicken wire & cover bottom half quickly -- pending weekend corrections. Soooo, they watched and tried it again but we're disappointed to find that barrier. Went to work and came home to all 3 still in the fields 👍👍 gratitude for having a stack of "repair" parts at hand. Added top of weekend list. But watching them slide thru, on there sides 😳😁🫣

Similar story here... but we only got a couple days of nice weather, and I got a sunburn, and now it snowed overnight and lots of snow is in the forecast. Feels like some goofy joke now that I got my snow tires off my truck, it hasn't stopped snowing.

Eh who needs snow tires anyhow. I drive year around with mixed service tires on my F450 and they never got me stuck. Those on the rear...

Good morning and what a way to start the day o_O

Good morning all! :frow
Busy day today. Unloading the mower today and getting the yard done if possible. It's pretty windy but thunderstorms are supposed to roll in tonight so I'm going to do all I can to get the mowing done. DH is on the phone checking on the new weed eater. We'll see if I'm going to pick one up this afternoon.
Y'all have a great day! :hugs

The best feeling!!! It's REAL!

Sounds fair enough given the situation.
After going around the property a little bit this afternoon I am starting to picture where animals will go here.
FANTASTIC !!

On this one, follow your gut instinct. It's there for a reason.

Just a quick "note"...

Checked the US drought monitor... the areas that are in severe drought, is expanding... including just about all of VA except for along a section of the SE coast... and they are in moderate... in @Mini Horses area... parts of NC are now in extreme drought... and look at the area in GA and into FL that are in the worst exceptional drought... You are looking at areas that produce A LOT of food... into the mid west and all there is more drought areas than not...
People BE AWARE.... this is not going to get fixed with one or 2 days of showers or rain.... this is having lasting effects on the ground, the trees, the whole ecosystems....
Food, crops and animals will suffer for this... and we will lose alot of our ability to produce food if this keeps up.

Anyone can type in US Drought monitor and go to current conditions and it will show the US map... you can click on a section or on your own state...
