Coffee anyone ?

Good evening all.
This trip has been long. Thought I was finished. Was getting ready to pack up and head back for another load then in talking to DH this evening while putting the new plates on the trucks we started questioning the farm truck plate. Seems odd to not have a back plate. Looked it up online and sure enough it's for 150 mile radius and not out of state. It's on the truck that is doing the hauling to and from. Ugh. So tomorrow when I was planning on leaving I'll be going back to the motor vehicle office and see what can of worms ends up being opened there. It's just over 10 hours to the tire shop that needs to put the correct tires on the trailer. That means I have to be there during business hours. I'm not sure when to leave. Need rest too. From tires it's another 20 hour drive. Of course added time for all the fuel stops and likely a nap here and there. Tried to look up weather and mostly it doesn't appear to be awful except minor freezing in WY. It's very hard to plan out weather on a route. I'm learning a lot about unpredictable weather here in MO. That's for sure. The last few days have been wild. Tornado warnings. Crazy rains and the biggest hail I've ever seen. Had to go to the basement 3 times for tornado warnings. Didn't have to get in the shelter but needed to be close. I told DH we absolutely need access to the basement/shelter from the house not go outside, and down to the basement. The lightening here has been non stop. Not what you should walk around in. Learning a lot. Met way too many people. Looking forward to going and getting another load. I'm ready to get this done. DH is ready for me to get back. I think the extra chores are wearing on him. I'd really like to run the mower over the yard one more time before I go. May do that during the day tomorrow. Our insurance gal wants to go out to supper. Might do that, take a nap then head out. Not sure yet. I'm exhausted and heading to bed.
Hope you all have a great night. :hugs
I remember having to adjust my mindset after moving to "tornado alley" in SC from CT. It was scarey at first, but I learned when to take the weather seriously. And when to not focus on the hype.
:hugs

Coffee is ready. I slept until 7. That almost never happens, i was tired. Looking out the window, my little pain in the a$$ lamb has her head stuck in the wire again. She never learns. It's almost a daily thing. The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence and there is no grass in the night pen. I have to ease one ear through, then the other ear, then almost pop her eyeballs out and she's free. Is she thankful? Nope. She just runs off, planning her next assault on the fence. One morning I went outside to find her stuck in the fence and the ground showed where she had struggled all night, it had stormed that night so she was pretty unhappy. Sheep and goat wire, 4x4 holes, I'll be glad when she no longer get her stupid head through the wire. Idiot. I'm going to get my second cup of coffee before I get dressed and go outside.

Shockingly, it snowed overnight here! Oh wait, it's been doing that for the last three weeks.
Really not much else exciting. [Cook] book club at the library tonight, that's always fun. I made a white bean soup that looks beautiful.
Should probably head into work, I have my coffee there, waiting for me.

Hmm. I found a Rural King along my route to the Gilmanor swap, the closest one to me in NC!

Guess where I plan to stop on my trip home?
:pop

Rural King is like TSC on steroids... way bigger, lots more "farmer" things... TSC has sadly trended to catering to more of the "urban backyard farmer".... Yes, better than not a farmer at all.... but they don't have alot of what we need for our bigger operation... and after noon on Saturday's, they are our only hope to fix something that ALWAYS breaks down on a weekend...
They also have alot more chicken stuff, and good farm type clothes... and a nice enough section for the urban farmer too.... cute signs and birdhouses and all sorts of things... The one we go to has a good sized dept for weed eaters and has a guy that actually works on them... but they cater more to the bigger farmer than TSC does. AND prices are much better than the local co-op on alot of stuff... oil, hydraulic fluid, , and chicken feed. I feed the "meat bird" feed because of the 18% protein... it is suggested for game birds, turkeys and such... NOT MEDICATED... but they have a huge selection... lots of baby chicks too... That is where I got my turkeys at that bargain last year... have guineas... I am seriously thinking of getting some even though they are stupid and will likely get killed before next year... but I want them to roam some and eat these #@&% TICKS...
Just took #5 tick off me for the season already...

Candidate to go to market... I am always so glad when we put "stupid" calves on the truck to the sale...

If I had known you were going to get farm plates for the truck, I would have cautioned you to check the rules... because every state is different... most have limited mileage area, most do not like out of state travel... but they are cheaper and most people that have a truck for the farm just use it "local"...
Sorry for all the other ..... you are getting a hard fast initiation into weather different than you know... you will get used to it and when to "panic"...

Safe trip home whenever you manage to leave.
