Coffee anyone ?

Morning all. Windy with storms expected this afternoon and evening. Early feed tonight. Nobody has bloated and Moses is leaving the bloat block alone. Leo has a persistent limp right rear leg. He’s- well I’m not sure how old he is. I discovered a bunch of weird dates in my picture gallery and learned that when photos are transferred from one iPhone to another they may show the transfer date instead of the taken-on date. Possibly everyone knew this but me. Some photos match up but some definitely don’t. Any how Leo, by my recollection (also prone to issues) will turn 9 this year. So he’s into aches and pains territory. I need to take some weight off of him. And me. My magnolia is blooming. Have a good day everyone.

I somehow have gotten the name "man on the mountain" stuck to me when they ask for my services out here, creepy. Power put in to two structures, firebreak created around a house, and prep work for a slab done that is going in this Friday. That's just week one, this guy claims if he was living out here he would be my competition  you could double your crew and still couldn't hold a candle to me. Why? Cause my talents don't stop at construction.
And you're boar tough!
:D =D:clap:highfive:

Coffee was brewed and I was out the door by 8am. We had a walk around the park, a change for Caleb, so mentally stimulating.

Afterwards I went outside for a couple hours to saw roots and branches in the area next to the woods. They were making it difficult to mow, so I wanted them gone. I used my reciprocating saw, drained two batteries and my hand is stiff...BUT IT'S DONE.

There are two big stumps (8") that are too large for me to remove, so I covered each with an inverted flower pot. The millipedes will now work in the dark to remove the stumps for me.

Good afternoon all :frow
Got the last of the jerky meat on the dehydrator. Ate the last package last trip home. Not a lot left. Highly doubt it will last through the remaining move. Pretty sad about that. Will have to see if there's any roast left that can be cut for jerky.
Need to work on for sale adds for craigslist. Get some of the bigger things we have for sale gone. Just sat down with coffee to work on that and our feral hopped up next to me on the sofa to check out what one of our other cats was up to. I took a chance and moved her (just inches) into my lap. She tried to panic but ended up enjoying the petting. She's currently upside down purring up a storm in my lap. She's come so far. Still got a ways to go but she's coming around. If I move fast she'll be gone in an instant. 😂
Getting on top of things around here that needed done since being gone. DH ordered parts for the truck. Most are here now. Yesterday he washed the truck and trailer pretty well to get the salts etc off. He also found the vibration in the front end of the truck I told him about. A tire is starting to separate. Not a surprise at this point. We had planned to get new tires before next trip already. They are getting pretty weather checked and worn from all the trips. Didn't last as long as we'd hoped but saw it coming. What's another set of tires at this point. 🥴 Pretty much every truck and trailer will have new tires before they go home at this point. Sure am missing home already.
Hope y'all are having a blessed day! Going to go work on the adds for a bit. :hugs

You have to spay them from spring until harvest. It's a real pain. Our son works at an orchard, so we can get apples. Much easier than months of spraying.
Oh dang. I have to spay my apple trees? Actually @drstratton could you advise or direct me to info about pruning peach trees. I have Peachzilla.

You don't have to spray them, if you don't mind a little protein 🐛 in your fruit! :ep:gig

The best I can do is suggest looking for videos on Youtube. That's what hubs does, he always checks to see if there's anything new in the pruning world. Sorry, but I don't have any specific videos to suggest. Look for newer videos with real people, not ai, that show you how to open up your tree branching in the center to let more light in. It's the same for cherries and apples. There are really a lot of good pruning videos available. We haven't pruned our apricots yet, so I know what you're saying about Peachzilla...lol

@RR Homestead an old English lady told me this about moving cats........ butter their paws. When you get them to where you are going, butter their paws. They hate it and will immediately go into full grooming mode to lick all that butter off. Grooming relaxes them, they are "home" and won't run off because it is a new place. Even so, you might want to do that inside or in a specific room. I moved a cat one time, daughter was 8 years old. We buttered the cats paws outside. Cat did not like it, clawed me to break free and took off for parts unknown. It got dark. Daughter was worried. It got late. Daughter was getting upset. It got past her bedtime. Daughter was weepy. It got past 10 PM. Daughter was worried, weepy, not going to sleep, very upset. MEOW MEOW MEOW. Daughter ran to the door and let the cat in. Welcome home kitty.

So you might want to do that inside to spare yourself the anxiety of WILL I EVER SEE MY CAT AGAIN?
