Back when I had apple trees up here... I never "sprayed" them.... but it is AMAZING how few bugs and crop horrors we have up here verses down there. I had a couple of apple crabs that were fantastic.

I would imagine the insects are controlled by the long winters. When we don't get a good, extended cold snap, it's a guarantee that the bugs are going to be bad.

Apple trees have fire blight, Hubbs is fussing about a customer, I had to make a speedy check on the ewes and lambs after a strange noise (maybe I have Nazgûl after all the ranch is Weathertop). Ewes ok, Leo did a sweep. The Maremmas are penned because the side by side is supposed to be dropped off any time and the highway gate is open. Hubbs work spat was resolved (hotheads in management). Spent time carefully pruning the apple’s fire blight and tearing out dewberries that are trying to take over a flowerbed. Dewberries did some tearing of their own. I need gardener’s sleeves. Just another day in paradise. Maybe the Nazgûl could help with the yard work, swords and armor etc. Hubbs let the Maremmas in for some unknowns reason. Moses has summed up my opinion of this afternoon.

Coffee is brewed, but I've not yet walked Caleb. Wisp and Alice were waiting on the steps, so I fed them there. After they finish eating I'll take Caleb for his first-of-the-morning pee. It won't be a long jaunt, as he does not like getting wet.

Nope, not enough to barely get the ground wet. Just checked the rain gauge, we have MAYBE half a tenth in the 2 different gauges... so .05... it is cloudy but our radar is showing it moving away... much greener on the radar east of the Blue Ridge mtns and to the coast... Yeah, @Mini Horses , @canesisters , @GLENMAR , @secuono getting it...

Are apple crabs salt water or fresh water crabs? Do they taste like apples?

Coffee is about gone. on my second cup, gulping it down so I can get chores done real quick. Then leave to go get my puppy. Its a 4-4 1/2 hour trip one way. I'm so excited! Also tired. Can't stop, got things to do.
