Got home around 0100 hrs, hope to get some of my stuff done this weekend. Been running around for everyone else. Crazy, I didn't even advertise this year or try to sell myself, they are now coming out of the wood work asking for my services. I can be happy the house came in last night, advances my schedule to help my friend move to PA. Yep I will be in PA towards the end of this month, just look for the burnout marks to find me.

LOL - the one that went up here got stuck trying to turn into the drive. The neighbor luckily had a bobcat there to dig out and fill to help. Otherwise -- it'd probably still be stuck. Oh and heard that one will be off-grid. They're so slow on doing things - wonder if they'll be in this summer even.
WTG being there and having the know-it-all and the tools to get 'er done.
But thinking on that concrete - shouldn't it have had more time to "cure"?

Apparently Pilot (Flying J) fuel stations now put a $500 hold on your cards. I filled up my auxiliary tank of 100 gallons of fuel, plus the $500 hold that they did I ended with $900 plus hold on my card. Filled up my truck with another card, welp there is another $500 hold plus $120 in fuel. So they are holding $1k I can't use till they release it. I have heard of $100 holds, but not $500. I will need fuel soon and I might be hitting $3k plus on hold at this rate cause they don't immediately return it. Two days later and still waiting plus the weekend is here now.

Morning all. I sprouted an avocado pit. The secret (for me) is damp paper towel around the pit, pit into a ziplock bag and stow in a dark place for about 6 weeks. Check for dampness. I do not need an avocado tree. I doubt I will live long enough to enjoy a harvest. Maybe I can give it away. We grew one 30 years ago and gave it to our bank for the lobby when it got too big. Too cold here for it outside and my hoop house isn’t weather proof. A silly thing to do I guess. Sheep are having a little grass scour. Probably ought to worm too. In the last two weeks six gorrilla hailstorms have struck within 150 miles and we were in the sights. But somehow a dry spring. Sheep, chickens and dogs look good. Garden is good but behind because I planted late. Off to chores.

Mother is still in the hospital. Sis was mistaken. They did move her from emergency to a regular bed. Her roomie was a 103 woman with a cough that could be heard all down both hallways. Sis asked them to move Mother after the first night, since she hardly got any sleep. They moved the woman instead. Her DD said to sis that its time for her Mom to leave - to let go.

When Mother gets out from Good Sam, she then goes into the facility where she lives, into rehab. She is there for a week, as they get PT, and other things done to her to get her moved. Yes, she is moving from Assisted Living into Memory care, after her one week stay in the rehab.

This gives Sis a week to empty Mother's apt. I'm flying down to help. We've got to get rid of her buffet, her curio cabinet and most of the contents, all of her china (i'll get ahold of Replacements and see if they want all of it - its from the 50's), the rest of her Waterford, one twin bed (Jerry's), two dressers, and more. If I need to, I can rent a car and drive back with things that I can take the time to get rid of when I get home.

My baby bro will be leaving for two weeks for Hawaii, so he's not available. The other brother is getting back from New Orleans on Sunday, so he'll stay with friends in order to help too that week. (he lives 5 hours away now, from San Jose).

Oh and FJ: I talked to sis about that expensive pill and how we might consider naming it as something else. Sis will think on it. Thank you for the excellent suggestion!!

When my mom passed suddenly we moved all her stuff into a (climate controlled) storage unit until we could figure out who wanted what, and what to do with the rest. The monthly fee was split among my siblings.

And WHY are they "holding" your cards?

Looked it up, seems to common thing, $100 plus for vehicle pumps like you go to, and $500 for pumps I go to. Yet of all the years I have been there, never had it happened before.

Worked today...yeah, Saturday. But it was a big job & today vice Mon meant all OT hrs. So, decision made easily. Wasn't bad to do since I've worked 3 of same already.

Weather is good. Farmers are out after that rain gave them some home of seed germination . We need more but -- only a slight came of small amount on Monday. Then no more looking like it will happen.

Had dinner...just heated some pulled pork BBQ from freezer. Hungry & not wanting to cook. Heat & eat works! Now it's time to relax a bit.
