Blue rex has been using nest as toilet, totally refusing to use it otherwise.
Gave her a bunch of new hay & she got to work. Pulled fur, had some in the hole, 4 outside. Added more hay to tuck them in the back & moved the 4 in with the rest.

Another had her kits!

Blue doe added more fur to her nest. Still waiting on the broken doe to kindle.

Got 4 nests stuffed with hay and ready to hang up. Also moved Freckles', Speedy's & Darkie's kits out together.
Speedy nest on Tuesday, Amber & Darkie on Wednesday, Freckles & Lynx on Friday.
Zero next Wednesday.


The broken is a day older & a lot smaller. Pure sf doing lots better than the cross.



Blue doe's kits escaped the nest & cage. So, I filled a nestbox and put it into the back of the cage. 6 kits. All well fed.

The, lynx2.0(? Not sure if that's her color or not), doe's kits are fed. One was out of nest, so I redid their nest to make it deeper.
Her broken blue otter buddy living with her is still due to kindle. Idk if she'll nest elsewhere or use the same box.

Need to downsize. Who to cull...Started feeding the blanket kits to the pup. Going to cull blue doe once kits are 4wks. Still need to look over the proven does from before to cull 1-2 of those as well. They just cost too much to feed.


Moved 3 kits to blue nest yesterday, as they're too tiny.




But the 3 biggest in the shared nest are hogging all of the milk. So are the others in blue nest.
Made another nest & shelfing the 3 fatties & 1 medium. Might move the 3 tinies as well.



Moved some buns around, then cages, then buns, then cages again. Lol
So hot out. Had to move them away from the morning and southern walls.
But it's funny, bc the carports are cooler at nthan the barn. But barn is cooler during the day.

Swapped kits this morning, got fed, swapped right back out. Lol. 3 moved to blue nest hardly fed, if at all. So, moved them back. Removed one biggest from the shared nest out to the fatty nest.


Moved 7 kits to the cull cage from a few different litters.
11's 2 black kits are also culls, but didn't move them out. As well as some others from other litters, but don't want to crowd the cage, especially since it's so hot out.
Gotta sweep out the floor, too, but it has to wait for nightfall.
Otter buck that got saved last time lost it this time.

And I found this horrible surprise this morning. All unborn kits lost, too.



This ripped his cup off the wall, no one had water since at least 7pm yesterday. Now has a leaky nipple instead.



Bleached her cage.
Moved Obscure & kits in.

Set up water in another stacker hole, then moved Kitty's replacement, & the black doe that lives with her, into it.

Moved the broken blue otter rex into the cage those 2 came out of. So, next door to where she was. Split the kits into 2, biggest 7 and smallest 6. Hung the 2nd nest on broken's doorway. Hope she feeds them!

Looks like both moms fed their kits today! *phew!*

Speedy is using her nest as a toilet.  Don't think she's bred. Bred to Baymax/lilacotter rex.

Freckles keeps making a tunnel in her nest, then snacking on hay from outside, when I add more hay. Bred to Rivian/newsf.

Darkie is pulling fur this morning! Bred to Ivory, Torty & Baymax.

Lynx semi built her nest awhile ago, topped off hay. She's big, due any time now. Bred to Ivory & Cinder, homegrown bucks.

Zero gets her nest on Wednesday. Bred to Swirl.


Ugh. I hate nest sitters!
Broken is doing that. Ripped cardboard liner off, placed on kits, sitting on top! At least they're fed.

But for good news, Darkie had 8 kits!


As for nest sharing does. Horrible idea! The fattest, strongest get fatter & stronger, rest will die.



Lost a lilac otter bc broken doe kept ripping the liner off n on them, then sitting on them!
