7/10. I have a Indian runner duck and didn't know that. I didn't guess the seabright. Last I didn't know the Chinese
I have Polish. I do think their crest affects them a little. They are easier for me to sneak up on sometimes. But I know they can still see. Back when I used to free range my birds I only had a few Polish. Because of hawks I had to stop free ranging. But it wasn’t the Polish that were getting taken, so I’ve never felt that the crests were a problem.I scored 8/10! Missed the goose one and guessed wrong on the winter layer question.
Funny enough, I’ve always thought Brahmas were more ornamental and hardy rather than prolific winter layers. My own best cold-season layers have been Plymouth Rocks and Rhode Island Reds — steady eggs even when the days got short.
Loved the quiz! It’s a fun reminder of how diverse poultry breeds really are. Out of curiosity, does anyone here keep Polish? I’ve only seen them at shows and wondered if the crest feathers cause any vision or predator issues in backyard setups.
