I started some Hummingbird Mint (Hyssop), for my bees from seed. Started 9 seeds, only 2 sprouted. I have about 20 more, so I will try again next spring.

Think I might have waited just a bit too long to transfer this one...lol

Great job with the bees. I would suggest investing in a couple of Feeder Frames as they take up less room. A 2" Feeder Frame will hold about 1 gallon and a 3" Feeder Frame with hold 2 gallons (these numbers are for the 9 1/8" frames. You can also get the 6 1/4" frames if you need those). With the Feeder Frames, you do not have to worry about drilling holes or anything. Just pop them in and fill them up.

Thank you so much, it's been a lot of fun. We talked about using those and decided that since we're using 8 frame boxes, we didn't want to take up the space. The 2 quart jars have worked really well for us. I fill up clean jars, pull out the empties, replace. Then throw the empties in the dw. It's amazing how fast those girls drain them down.

I was out checking on the chickens night before last and noticed the bees still gathering nectar. It was almost 9pm.

On my basil.

Well, I'd better get moving, been awake since 5:20, but wasn't ready to get up. My body is now protesting at my laziness...lol

We're heading out for a 5 day getaway tomorrow, so I have a lot of things to get done before that can happen.
