What is the diference between the two and what should I be looking for?
My little LaMancha keeps shaking her head and pawing at her little ear, I cant tell what is wrong?
I have looked in it and found nothing but wax, no fowl smell, and no gross black stuff.
So what should I be looking for/ treating her with?

With ear mites you should definitely see some black coffee ground stuff. But if it is early on, maybe not. I would get some Vet Rx and put it into her ears and see if that helps.

I have that because of my chickens, is it the same or will I have to get some goat specific VetRX?

I wouldn't just assume mites or infection right off the bat. My lamancha has really tiny ear splits that are covered by her little elf ear and they dont air out. They're not infected, and they're not ear mites. I try and get them to open and air out. If they get too bad I'll put some of the infused oil they recommend in there, but for now she's been fine.

My mom told me to take a Q-tip and swish gently around her ears to check for black or green. I just did that and all I found was moisture, so I think you might be right. After some gentle poking I think her tiny ears are open.
If it does not get any better, and only seems to get worse I will post again, but what type of oil are you talking about?

It's the same stuff. Just put it onto a cotton ball and swab the ear with it (inside and out). Repeat 2x daily for 5 days.

If after that time you still see the same symptoms then get antibiotic otic drops from your vet.

This is from the link I shared. They also sell it already made up on the fiasco farms website.
Fiasco farms:
Antimicrobial & Antiparasitic Ear Oil

For ear mites, or infections of bacterial or fungal origin.

Mix Equal Parts:

Mullein Infused Oil (extra virgin olive oil base)
Garlic Infused Oil (extra virgin olive oil base)
A couple capsules of Vitamin E to act as a preservative and to aid in skin healing.
To use: apply 6 -12 drops to the effected area of the earflap or ear canal. Flooding the ear canal is not necessary.
Also on the same page:
OR, another method of keeping the ear open and clean, is to use one part white vinegar and one part rubbing alcohol. Mix this and keep it in a tight container, then take an eye dropper and drop a couple drops in each ear once or twice a week routine basis.
And remember, they have lamancha's so I'm pretty sure they know about lamancha ear problems. This is the advice I've been following. I havn't had to add any oil as long as I make sure those little ear slits stay open.
