I have a LOT of cats, mostly were feral. I've actually never seen them near my road....porch & yard loungers by day, barn and yard hunters by night. Yes, I feed them. But my mouse issues have disappeared -- house & barns! Caught 2 in house this spring! Used to be huge numbers in spring before...haven't seen any in barn in a long while.

Kittens survived the night in the box, put out in the large box with food and water and a flat for a litter box with stuff in it. Let them eat and relax a little. They went right to the water then the food. It is confining compared to the office and barn where they were used to, but they won't get in trouble for the time being.

I got a shower and yes, the water is still hot, and then checked the weather radar and went in and was reading... all of a sudden heard a funny dull roar... and looked out and it was raining... a straight downpour type. I had left the windows on the explorer down a little... so ran out and started it and put them up....then sat there for nearly 45 minutes as it was really pouring... WOW... not on the "future" radar or anything... Sure they said pop up showers but holy cow.
Looked in the rain gauge this morning... we had 1 FULL INCH....

Guess the clothes got a good rain water rinse !!!!! Sun is out and it is nearly 80 already at 9 a.m. Don't know if they will dry, might have to bring them in and run through the washer spin cycle. I should've gotten them in when I got home but with the kitten detour, sorta forgot until after it was dark and I was in and it certainly looked like all the pop ups were not coming in this direction.
Could be worse....

Going out to get the peaches out of the car and into the flats in the house. It is humid and sticky/muggy out there already. Need to get the meters and hoses in the car for later today. Bottles already in the tray to go.

her car down to my mechanic's to have the check engine light checked out
As I understand it the Check Engine Light should have been named Check Emission system Light since that is what it is actually complaining about. Most of the time if the CEL goes on the O2 sensor is bad.

It's noon and I am back in the house. Muggy and mid 80's last I looked. Some hazy sun out and the radar is showing maybe some showers close to here mid-late afternoon.

There was rain here at the house while I was testing and a quick shower after I got home last evening. Right at 1/2 inch (.5) total in gauge this morning.

I did something... probably to back/spine... I have a hot burning pain down the outside of the left thigh that is very very painful... also some actual feeling of weakness in that leg as I walk. I felt the pain some at testing yesterday... and last night was horrible. Woke up several times, have taken several things, and finally got into the serious pain meds from years ago with the ankle and all... Will be making a call to the chiropractor Monday... I am nearly positive that it is a pinched nerve of some sort.... hurts to sit, and is terrible to try to lay down and find a comfortable position. Haven't had this kind of pain in years.....

Hung out the small load of clothes this morning... they ought to dry in a few hours. Light weight shirts and such... The others got well "rinsed" and I will probably bring them in later and if need be, run through the rinse/spin cycle... but they were hanging and drying a bit for now, so left them. My lack of getting them in when I got the kittens.

Kittens are not liking the big box, and I am going to let them out into the shed where the freezers are maybe later today. They are using the kitty litter good, and I will fix it to where they can get in and out the door there... the shed has several "holes" in the siding down low so it is by no means "tight" and they will be able to get in and out... further from the road than at the house... and this way they will be able to do more exploring. There is a ground hog living under the shed... good sized hole.... that I am going to set a trap for and see if I can eliminate it... I will put a box on it's side with the T-shirt "bed" for sleeping they have in the big box now... and the litter box flat... and feed them in there and hope they do okay. might catch them up to put in the big box if I am going to be gone for any length of time... Hate for them to stay in it as there is "nothing to do" in it.
Need to come up with some names... 2 dark tigers, one has longer hair than the other, and one with white feet, belly, with a grey tiger like "saddle" on it... and that one has a stumpy tail. Several at the farm have short/no tails. I don't even know if they are male or female... I didn't want to take a single, and if I took 2 then there would be a single left at the farm... just better to take all 3. Will want to get the female at least spayed... don't need a pile of kittens... will see as time goes on.

Won't be doing anything in the garden unless it cools off some and the pain subsides... need to get on the weed eating around the inside and out side of the net fence. Nothing in the trap this morning. But I just don't feel up to dealing with the sharp pain up the outside of the thigh...to do much out there.

More showers/rain through the first of the week and tomorrow looks like a pretty sure thing... With it warming up so much the last 10 days things are growing like gangbusters. Need to get tomatoes tied up too... they have really started to grow. See lots of small ones on them finally. So very thankful I worked on that mulch when it was still cooler... I will put more down as soon as I get these weeds cut down flat... around the edges. then the butternut and crenshaw squash plants can run...
