Sunday... muggy out... was down to 66, and mostly very cloudy... rain due to come in later this afternoon and into the night. Repeat tomorrow supposedly. Yesterday was partly to mostly sun all day...

Really felt this aching back most all day... someone said maybe a kidney infection??? Guess I need to go get it checked out... but I still think with the headaches and the general achiness it is more likely the tick bite/lyme symptons.

Have the laundry done and it looks like there might be a better window tomorrow to hang it out. I did hang out some of it, since the rain seems to not be coming as fast as they said. There is a slight breeze so it ought to take some of the moisture out of it. I need to check the radar and see what the status it.

Got milk yesterday evening and did a 1/2 gal for DS to take to his father's... see how that goes. The one naturopath type person he has gone to suggested to get raw milk if possible since he will utilize more nutrients out of it... and a list of things he needs to stay away from... to help with the diabetes and to help "feed" the muscles and such that are so weak from lack of use and not eating right... It is Father's day and he is going there in a bit.
His father did give most of his chickens to a young fancier and DS is getting the rest soon. He has given in to the fact that he cannot manage anymore as he falls all the time. But he is also getting some PT finally.... got off his stubborn kick... so who knows if they will be able to help him get back some more mobility... at least he is doing some of the exercises now...and if he gets able to get around better, then maybe he can get a few back from DS... he doesn't want to give them up and it is less incentive to get out there, but constant falls and going to the ER or just for the rescue squad to come is just not good.

Need to check the radar and see what is what... go outside and maybe mow a little.

Tomorrow morning we are supposed to get in the neighbor's cows/calves... sort the calves and take to our barn to work the calves... blackleg, band, fly tags, etc... get it done like at 9 or so before it gets too hot and muggy.

Back in the house... There were rumbles of thunder out there, and I went out and there were a few sprinkles. I took the stuff off the line... some shirts were more than half dry, jeans a not as "wet"... and got in the house just as it started to lightly rain. Radar shows some of this until 4 or 5... then a break, then more... so a wet afternoon. It is raining pretty steady, not real hard... but definitely getting things wet again.

I have one of the hams I picked up on sale, and think I might just stick it in the oven to bake. Then I will have lots of ham for sandwiches and to freeze some for future. It's not cold out... but down to 70, so won't hurt the house if it heats it a little.

No mowing that is for sure.

Hang those jeans in the kitchen while you bake the ham. 😁 I'll assume you have a dry rack

Same weather here. Just started sprinkles ... Rains are coming. Thunder rumbles now & then. Tomorrow more rain, so they say.

I'm thinking I'll go milk, hoping to miss the downpour. It's just a little early, not a lot, it'll work.

Thanks. We have had seminars here on this Asian Longhorn tick... and we had a cow confirmed positive to the Theileria disease... it is very prevalent here . It is a big problem in this area.
Dr said that they cannot tell much from blood work for about 6 weeks, concerning the Lyme disease...so only 2 weeks since I saw this rash; so suggested I get a dr appt with my pcp... he was not convinced the bulls eye rash was from a lyme carrying tick... said that other tick bites can cause that same rash.. he did start me on the antibiotics.. which are the same ones I take for the pre-dental appts. I have had other tick bites and have never had that defined a bulls eye rash before...
Also said the back ache and all could be a bladder or kidney infection... but I have not had any other symptoms...did not test a urine sample...
Was also concerned about the blood pressure... 178/96 one time, and 184/98 the second time... it is usually always high when I don't feel good. BUT I have a wrist one from my parents... and it was 122/78 and 128/82 this morning. I am not the least concerned about it. My chiropractor says that 100 + your age is the acceptable limit for the top number... because as you get older your veins are not as supple and it takes a little more pressure to pump the blood... bottom number normal is 70-90. Weight also affects it, making it a little higher... so I am not concerned. Back is not hurting quite so much either... maybe it is a bladder/kidney infection / also????

Partly sunny out there this morning... We had clouds, a light shower yesterday... don't know about last night... will check the rain gauge again. It is humid... possible showers this afternoon. I have to go test this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon. Got to pick up the samples at the owner sampler farm on my way to test this aft... then do the paper/computer work and will be testing right down the road tomorrow so can drop off all the information. Same with today's farm... print up all the stuff and drop it off tomorrow also...
The farm down the road that borrows my meters has them... they texted and I dropped them off Sunday eve... told them I had to have them back by Thurs morning to take to the farm to test Thurs aft. Today is 125 cows tomorrow is 200 cows.

Time to get outside and get some stuff done... Maybe try to mow a bit after the sun dries off the grass... It was out a little bit ago but a little cloudy now...

Ohhhh I like that!! Then I'm really good - now if that age number matched my actual age I'd be really happy!

He has been my chiropractor for over 30 years. One of my old order Mennonite farmers told me about him...and he has done wonders for me over the years. He said that one of the problems with all this "high blood pressure stuff" and that they lowered the numbers from the old 120/80 down to 110/70 is that the pharmaceutical companies actually were behind it... they determine what is healthy with no regard to a person"s height/weight/ AGE / activity levels... and it is a way to sell more blood pressure medicine that really does very very little for 80% of the people... except to make the companies more money.
He is very into fitness, and healthy stuff... but not a fanatic.... and makes you WANT to be healthier and more fit... not shame you into it...
He practices the Gonstead method of chiropractic medicine. He goes to seminars and such alot to stay up on things and takes courses occasionally to "stay sharp" as he says.
Yeah, I wish my age was closer to the top number when I have a normal day......If wishes were horses, beggars would ride....
