Friday morning... It was a cool 47 this morning again... The sun is out and supposed to be nice again today. Sun forecast for the next several days.
One load of clothes washed ready to go out... 2nd load in wash. I just did a sink full of dishes and have a bunch of other stuff that needs washing. Several gallon glass jars too. I have not felt like doing much of anything except what has had to be done. And that is mostly outside stuff that has to be done.
Gallon of tea out to make sun tea again.

I feel a little better. Not coughing as much, not as much dripping nose... Still have the chronic backache. I sure don't feel good, but a little more energy to push a little.

Went in for the EKG yesterday... they said I was free to go after it was done, and didn't act like it was a cause to "wait here while we call your dr" kind of thing... It was kinda neat to watch it, and listen to the swushing of the blood as the heart pumps it... Took about 45 minutes. The worst part was the pressure of the thing that he pushed around "firmly" against the skin to "see" what they want to see; and laying on my left side with the arm up under a pillow because of the shoulders aching... but sure could have been worse. Unless I miss my guess pretty bad, I don't think there is anything wrong with my heart or anything... that the out of breath and pressure is from this other congestion, feeling crummy, worn out and no energy thing.

I took a chance yesterday and ate some red meat. Hamburger... waiting to see if I have a reaction like I did 3 times while feeling so crappy. It seemed like it was 12-18 hours after I had eaten it. If no problem, then I am going to think that it was from something in my gut tract while feeling so uck. Praying it is not a case of that alpha-gal from a tick bite.

Going up to check the 2 heifers still due to calve. See if "the 12" are off away from the rest so they can get some grain.

DS and GF are going to a haunted house thing this eve... in NC... they have seen most of the ones around here he said. So I am going to the big pasture to check on those cows and go feed some grain at another place where we have the 14 heifers we turned back out a month ago... going to get them in and reassess them.I think there are 4 or 5 that are bigger.... I am sure there are a few, if not most, that will be next to get sold. We have 10 at another place, that will have to come home by the 15th... they are bigger heifers, ready to breed. DS wants to put them where these 14 are, as they are used to being on grass so this would be a good place to stick them. We run heifers at this guys place, he wants something to eat the grass... but he also mows it, so it always looks like a "perfect lawn".... with the dry, they have it eaten down pretty good... but it is free grazing for 5-6 months. Have to take "nice" heifers there... no "nuts" or hard to get in ones...

So, I will feed some grain at the pasture to see about getting the 14 to come to call... I am sure they haven't forgotten what grain is... Check and count the ones at the big pasture...

Reading up on the blood testing, seems it might take a few weeks for the Tularemia test... most are pretty fast... UGH:barnie:he:th.

Well, time to get going out the door, go to the pasture across the road, and check the heifers... Got a bunch of stuff on the list to do... See what I can push myself to do today....

Don't push too hard, but I think you already know that.

Nice day out... sunny and up to 74. Very slight breeze.

Clothes hung, will maybe get them in tomorrow.... Brought tea in and made it and in the fridge. Went to the pasture, no new babies at snyder's yet. Got grain and fed the "12" . DS had taken hay in so the bigger ones were down over the hill. Put some grain inside in the bunk feeder in the barn also.
Went out and took some water for the chickens, put some feed in the feeders and realized I needed some of the "old chicken feed pellets" to mix. But they are good for today at least.

Went to the dumpster with a couple feed bags of junk/garbage..... Stopped at the co-op to see about getting the back wiper blade and arm put on the Explorer while right next door to there, but he was pretty busy, and the other guy is out, took a couple days vacation... so I told him I'd see about maybe leaving it Monday, or get back next week. Not a life or death thing...
Then went inside, and talked to the mgr who is a friend, about the ground mineral feeder that I have wanted to get for up at snyder's... can't get DS to fix the old mineral feeder up there and they don't do good with it in a tub as it gets wet... this "bull mineral feeder" is ground level, has a big cover that they have to pick up with their noses... like a mud flap on it... but it keeps the mineral and salt blocks mostly dry... and I am going to try one of the heavy black plastic round bale feeders.... They are light weight enough that you can flip them over and roll them to the next bale.... have had several people say they like them.... a few say they don't...that the bulls will roll them around some.... but for the heifers and such I think they ought to work... I have wanted to try one and they are about $200 LESS than the lighter weight metal ones.... So, I will go the first part of the week... maybe Tues... and get them with the flat bed. Again, tired of waiting on DS to fix the mineral feeder that is there... it needs new pipes on the legs to stick out... like an X to keep it balanced..... they rotted off... been like that for nearly a year and I really am tired of "my stuff" not getting done.

Put several bags of plastic bags in the car to take back to the bag recycle bin at Walmart next trip in there.

Went to the feed bin at DS's green barn, and got a 5 gal bucket of chicken feed to bring home. Then went to the farm and got a different 5 gal bucket of cattle feed , a bag of mineral and a 50 lb salt block, to take to the pastures; in the red forester....But decided to go in the morning... wouldn't have enough time to really look the cattle over as it was getting later in the afternoon. Plus back was aching alot.

Decided to go to Lowes's, and get the treated 2x6's that I have asked DS about several times for these chicken runs. The pine lumber is going to rot if left flat on the ground and he keeps saying he will measure them and go get it. I measured them awhile back... but as usual it is not a priority. I was going to take the flat bed diesel... BUT... the bed is only 8 ft... so a 16" 2x6" would hang half off. I measured the explorer, and with the back seat down, a 16' 2x6 would go in 10 ft, leaving only 6 ft and with the other ones I needed... some 10's and some 8's...to put on top of them, it would work. Tired of waiting for him.
I also got a couple cinder blocks for a roost for the turkeys... until I figure out something else... the wire of these runs is on the inside, so not like I have anything to set the limbs/boards on. So, this will give them a roost... I brought home a couple of fairly decent limbs from Snyder's pasture when cleaning up some of what had come out of the one tree... don't want to drive on them...
I didn't think of something to paint on the 2x6's... more preservative against the wet... and I wanted to get a couple of clamps as the one run I still hadn't finished because the roof panels that Deb offered to fix still aren't done, and one of the little truss pieces that the friend offered to get made, never got it made and I haven't gotten it back from him... YET 🤬 🤬 🤬 🤬 :he:he:he:he . I don't like to do carpentry... but gee wiz... don't offer to do something and then still not finish it months later...Deb keeps offering to help do things, and I know that she likes to keep busy, but she just can't do things as well with her problems, and I had finally given in with the 2 roof panels that just needed the end boards replaced... but now they are not done yet..... The one panel on the side that meets the back is warped, and with them being so "flimsy" and thin little 2x2's... I want to clamp it and get the screws in straight, then put a small metal "L" to hold them so the screws don't pull out of the wood. This way, if I clamp them, then screw the screws in, and add an "L" to hold them, then I can unclamp them....

So, in the morning I will go to the 2 pastures... DS had said fri or sat would be fine... give me time to look over and count and check the cows/calves, put their mineral and salt out... then stop on the way back and feed the heifers so when DS sets up the panels, they will want to come and go in for grain. Usually only takes a time or 2 to get them to come in since they know what grain is all about.
Then I will make another trip to Lowe's and see about something to brush on the 2x6's for extra water repellent against the wet ground....They can dry for a day while the weather is so nice right now... when we get rain or snow this winter. Plus I need to think of what/how I am going to attach the boards because the longer sides are going to be the "runners" so that I can pull the runs and move them... like I have been wanting to do for 3 months... but I do not want there to be any "space" on the bottom, so the front and back board will have to butt up "inside", so it too will be flat on the ground. Plan for the big eyes to go in the end of the 2x6's... and it should pick up just a little with a tow rope around the hitch on the lawn tractor... not like they are going to be moved very far at a time... just the length of the run, so they get fresh ground...and they are not so heavy so the eye bolts should not pull out or anything...
I am sure you all have seen some of these chicken tractors... Plus the whole original idea was to have these little pine sides off the ground so they don't rot off in a year.

In the morning, I will take the explorer around to the chicken runs; because the little ranger is still not running...and it is in the way to get out there from the front/driveway..... I have to go out and down to the end of the property and come in that way.... then I can get right near them... and unload the boards. Wasn't going to do it in the dark, as it was about dark when I got home...and do not want to miss, hit the end of the culvert and slice up a tire....it is narrow there and I asked for an extension to the pipe to make it wider to come in there.... no sense in even talking about that not getting done either...

So far, no reaction to the beef hamburger... maybe it was just a severe stomach thing that was coincidental with the diarrhea ... but 3 times in 3 days??? ... I do NOT want to have that thing and be allergic to red meat now... so I am cautiously optimistic...
Not helping the back any... coughing is less... but the prednisone is not a "cure".... and the antihistimine - decongestant will help with that... but still not solving the backache, the other symptoms...
Be interesting to see what the EKG showed... I think she is trying to find something that isn't there... and not looking for "out of the box" possibilities. If I had my way, I would be on antibiotics for 3-4 weeks as a precaution ..... for the possibility of the tick bites/diseases... and some other symptoms like the couple of sores on the ankle that originally both the chiropractor and I attributed to a spider bite... but now I think was a tick bite and subsequent effect.... and I am concerned about any possible problems with the joint replacements.

I do NOT want to take a bunch of pills... and I do not take antibiotics often... but with having "foreign" parts in my body with the replacements, I am totally onboard with taking something to PROTECT them and NOT let an infection get into them.....

Well, past time for bed. Going to get up and get going in the morning... I have another sink full of stuff in the kitchen to wash once I put away the clean dry dishes. At least I am getting inspired to try to clwan things up a bit... PLUS, I have to go by DS's house and feed the chickens and dogs in the morning too when I head to the pastures...
