Partly cloudy day... down to 23 last night... colder than I expected it to go.... The sun was out before, now more clouds... it is in the mid 40's last time I looked...

Slept decent once I got to sleep. Going out to mix the chicken feed and fill the feeders, then am going to see if I can manage a trip to get a couple cards to put money in for the kids this year. I had already decided to not do presents, they just get lost in the multitude of stuff that they get from everyone else... and the 3 girls are getting older and the tastes of kids today are just not what I "get"... plus they get soo much stuff, they will never miss "more presents" from me. I won't see any of them and not really wanting to be around people with this still bothersome cold/flu bug...

Lots of coughing and nose blowing today... have a little more energy... not alot, but not as dragged down this morning.. Not going to overdo it.

Been a long day... wrote a whole bunch and accidentally erased it again... cloudy and dreary... was quite damp but actually seems warmer now and there is a slight breeze... 36 up to 57.... Weather has been not as good as they had forecast... not quite as warm and definitely not as sunny.

Went out and burned some papers, old cardboard; now will be able to wash my hair and be clean for a couple days.

Had another problem with the neighbor down behind grant's pasture, behind me... the one with the fence she had put up for the riparian area bordering the little creek, last year, and refuses to fund her part of the fence between the 2 properties that is the actual border fence... had a couple calves get out on her, and she started in about it.... blah blah blah.... WELL, it was HER BIG DEAD tree that fell over into "our side" (we lease this place), and took out a bunch of the fence... our landowner is tired of fighting with her and said he is just going to put the fence up.... but it is the principal of the thing... and her constant complaints about anytime anything gets out... even though it is "her fault" this time, because her tree fell over into "our side" and took out the fence.

It is getting old... plus now we have a calf that has been out 3 times, out in the Christmas tree lot..the last 3 days..... just because he wants to eat the grass, runs across the corner of my property and then dives back through the fence... seen him do it... It is along the dirt road where the fence is going to be replaced... near the corner that we have had tractor trailers illegally on this road, take out the fence corner, and we are going to put up the new fence, several feet back in the field, and put huge boulders on the outside of the fence posts to stop them from tearing it up... tear up their tractor trailer instead.... Another thing that has not been done because DS gets "too busy" going gallivanting with her all the time...days when he should have been doing some of this and just doesn't get it done...
So he is complaining to me about this calf (it's on his cow not mine) and how it is going to get weaned and stuck by its self in the lot and be done with it... which is not going to happen... it's 3 months old... and I said, just get her and the calf in the catch lot and move them up behind his house in the back pasture at doug's farm, with the other group up there... Because the fence along the road has not been built yet........ and there is always someone that has to "be out"... you all know what I am saying...... there's a lamb, sheep, goat, kid, pig, chicken.... that won't stay where they are supposed to be... we get 1 or 2 calves at this pasture every year... always different ones... if the new fence was up along that section, it would not be a problem along the dirt road....

So I helped earlier, going out in the field, watching the cows when he found the big down tree, took the 4 wheeler, got the calves back as I called the cows to come to me so that they would not go near the bad spot... then he went back to get the truck and a couple old gates and wire to try to fix around this huge tree... GF came back with him, and was helping.... Got to talking about how sick her mom had gotten... went to urgent care and they said it was just a bad cold...BS..... But she had fever/chills/hurt all over.... GF said, she is like you, she doesn't go to drs she just toughs it out, and gets over it, and deals with it.... but you know she was really sick to go to the urgent care.. and I told her that I had taken the ivermectin and was already feeling a little better... she then said she had done some research on it, and I told her about all family pharmacy, and she pulled it up on her phone internet thing... and was IMPRESSED with what they were offering... We got the "patch job" done and talked for a couple minutes... she talked about how P.O.ed she was over them basically doing nothing for her mom being so sick, and I said that I was tired of the conventional drs not giving credence to things like the bulls eye rash I had.... she said, it was awful, I had showed her the pictures.... said that the last time her daughter had a severe reaction to a mosquito bite ( I wonder if it was a spider bite instead), and the pediatrician had gone right on the internet and done some research and said that sometimes if someone had had a tick bite, that a later bite from a tick or spider , or mosquito bite can cause a severe reaction... and put her right on antibiotics....
I said, you know, I had to practically beg to get the blood test done, and it was inconclusive... and that I really believe that it has played he// with my immune system... because I have not "felt good", not completely... since June when I had this... and the delayed treatment and "scoffing" of my feelings that I had contracted something.... and that the rash did not make them think it was that serious... yet the pharmacist at Walmart when they finally put me on the antibiotics... said that the doctors do not pay near as much attention to the complications of the different diseases that ticks carry and the long term effects.....
DS said , you know, you're right, you have never felt "good" since the early summer.... I didn't realize that.... I said no, I haven't felt right, back to normal.....
Plus all this took several trips and months, so whatever I had in my system had plenty of time to embed itsself into my body... and the more you read up on it... the more it is very evident that I am having continued issues with whatever I actually did have. That I may never know for sure...
I need to find a naturopath dr that would do some extensive research on this... in the meantime... I am going to take the "self-diagnose" and self-treat route, with things that are "unconventional" and see if I can try to get "over" some of these symtoms...
Problem is, with the big hospital here, the drs are soooo "conventional" that they will not look very far outside the box.... like what I have been up against.... rather than try to CURE IT right from the start, let it drag on so that it just causes repeat dr visits and all sorts of tests and then wanting you to go on more drugs and all that crap....and not take some of these insidious diseases near as serious as they should be.....

So, that was a good part of my day....

DS did not get Chad to come help do the roof on my shed that leaks and has a tarp over, or the "skids" under the chicken pens... he did not show up like he was supposed to... and DS hauled a load of lime, and then had to come deal with the calves/fences.... so he just said the he// with this. He is a good worker, when he wants to, but wants too much money per hour for what he is getting accomplished... he starts out good for the first few days, then starts slacking off.... like this... DS is tired of his crap and I can't blame him.... DA#%... no one wants to really work anymore... Getting old....

Need to get up and get something done in the house. Maybe get all the cards done, so I can give them to DS tomorrow. Gave him a pair of work gloves I got him... XXXL.... also got 2 pr of XXL and was going to tell him to try them... saved the slip... so will tell him to take them back if they don't fit... one pair felt bigger..... and he can trade them for a couple more pair... right here from the co-op local.... might have to kick in a couple dollars more difference... but he needs to have a pair in each truck as he tends to forget to take some with him like today working on the fence... He has big hands..... Using barbed wire to repair/fix the fence, you have to have good gloves...

Physicians don't think outside the box because the hospitals and outpatient practices have adopted protocols to follow and lists of drugs to use ("if symptoms are A, use drug B")

Farmer, heal thyself.

I read a paper about why the meds for parasites are apparently helping cancer patients, really interesting stuff.

Here's a screenshot in case you're interested:

In Canada the doctors use this successfully & openly. Ivermectin & fenben has been use for uses far beyond parasites for years -- in other countries mostly.

It's true that the doctors & health care systems have been channeled into less than desirable treatment of patients, illnesses & medicines -- all about big pharma and $$$. It's sad.

Many of the insurances require "pre authorization" for many procedures....and are using AI to make the decisions, not doctors. It's a tangled mess!!!

Wed... Christmas Eve morning... Temps down to 45 overnight... already 60. Got one load of laundry to go out on line and the sweatshirts/flannel lined jeans in there now. Be good to get dried for next batch of cold coming in Monday... highs of 35 expected with frigid wind chills again... Sure wish these last 3 would calve in the next day or 2....
Going out to hang the clothes... do chickens, check to see if the stupid calves got out behind me... go up to snyder's and see if maybe she calved:fl:fl:fl.

Not trying to push too much, but need to get a few things caught up while it is nice out.

Wed evening... It was a nice day out. Sunny, and in the upper 60's... The sun hit the recording thermometer and it said 76... It truly was a nice day. I was out in just a long sleeved T-shirt... I put on a light zip up sweathshirt and had to take it off cuz I was too hot...
I got 2 loads of clothes hung. It was sunny and warm. I picked up a few sticks on the lawn, still a bunch more around the maple tree, but a few are a start.
I took a couple 50 lb trash bags to the dumpster and went to the bank to get the money I wanted to put in the envelopes. Went into TSC and they had all the "holiday decor" and that on 50% off... got a large candle that looks like a birch log, and will work as a plant holder when it is done, fairly shallow... I had been looking at them and bought one a couple weeks ago... so got a match. And got another bird feeder... they were 40% off... I have the plastic one that looks like the barn, got a "match" that is a general store.... Gifts to myself.....

Stopped and got a Christmas card as I was short one, and came on home.... That was enough activity out for the day.

Checked the cows, all was quiet... Did not see any of the calves out...

After I came home, I filled the new bird feeder, and hung it. Took water and some bread and stuff to the chickens... Filled the feeder in the big pen, and gave them a bunch of the bread and scraps. Filled their waterer to the top. Took water over to the leghorns and filled that, gave them some bread... they had over 1/2 feeder full, so will take them some tomorrow to refill it. Then I went and got the clothes off the line, brought them all in...
That's enough for the day. Cough started up again, nose running... but I have a little more energy.

Talked to DS to see what his Christmas plans are. He spent time with her and the kids this morning, he was going to feed some at the barn. He talked about seeing 2 friends, but with his cold said he wasn't going to stay and visit, just stop and say hi and tell them he would see them in another week or so when he was better. He was going to talk to his father and see about spending some time with him. Seems the GF sister is going to have a "Christmas" on Friday eve, because he will not go to GF/sister parents house tomorrow... and that they will exchange gifts on Friday eve since he will not be there tomorrow... So if I feel up to it, can go Friday eve... GF mom is still feeling pretty sick/wiped out... so it will be a little low key tomorrow for them, I guess....., whatever...

So that was my day. Got most everything in the "bag" for DS and her side... a couple little things for DS, and her... she likes ribbon candy and got some for her, plus the Ghiaraldi Chocs... and the cards and money... no sense in me spending a fortune... like I told DS the other day, I spend enough during the year paying for alot of the farm stuff when I pay the Rural King CC and such..., not out of the farm cattle money.... so he gets "presents" all year....

It is supposed to be fairly warm again tomorrow... a dip into the mid 40's Friday then warmer Sat and Sunday then dropping like a rock into the mid 30's on mon DAY, and teens Mon night... CRAZY.... Hoping to feel up to do something outside tomorrow for a bit beyond filling the chicken feeder in the leghorns...

Got a couple of buckets I want to wash out, to dry out, so I can put the bird seed in.... but I may bring them in and wash in the bathtub so the water isn't so awful cold...

I am going to see about folding some of these clothes... and shredding some more paper/junk mail... I might get to the bottom of the pile... but then I brought in at least 10 envelopes today and most are junk mail....

Langshan is laying good... got an egg yesterday and today... she is laying 2 out of 3 days pretty much... bacon and eggs tomorrow I think... I meant to get a pkg of english muffins, liked the idea from @Mini Horses post... but forgot when I got the card... oh well, next trip...

Hope everyone has a nice Christmas eve with family and/or friends... or with last minute wrapping and such anticipating tomorrow... and for those that have been hit with this "bug".... I hope that you can not feel too crummy with it... Believe me, I sympathize.... been there, done that for the last couple weeks....
