I thought chickens don't have taste buds? I had an egg eater two homes ago. I blew out the egg and filled with siracha. The chicken still ate it.

I've read that they can't taste "heat".
So adding hot pepper flakes to their feed will deter rodents & such.
Surely they can taste to some extent??

If it doesn't work, color that mustard dark vibrant blue-you want it to make a mess-then see who has egg on their face.

Food coloring might be better. You want it to get all over them if the egg is busted.

Thanks for the suggestion. It's probably going to wait until I get back from my trip. Broody is still on 6 eggs (I checked under her this afternoon, she was not amused) and I just don't have time to mess with it.
