Rained a little overnight, but it's held off so far this morning. I decided to get my slack self outside to do some trimming. Yard was too wet to mow.

Afterwards, aound the ponds, wish I'd done a "before" picture:

I can see the stepping stones!

Battery was still strong. The trimmer just needed a new section of line, so I decided to tackle the fence.

You can see how tall the weeds were, just look to the right.

I'm pleased with the replacement line I purchased. Despite hitting the fence and stones it lasted for the length of the fence.

Gulf fritillary, first time in my yard. I've seen them before, at the beach.

Variegated fritillary, see these frequently. Their host plant is violets, it's laying eggs.

Pipe organ mud dauber nest. I was going to remove it until I read how beneficial these solitary wasps are. I'll clean it off once the young have hatched. Not a Mason wasp nest.

Green Lynx spider, also on the elderberry bush. Eat bugs!

I've more, but reached the photo limit!
Beautiful yard critters.💗

Today I met the dog I was interested in adopting. She's perfect, I want her. I can't adopt her before I retire, though, as she'd be crated for 11 hours a day.

I offered to pay up front. They said they can't hold her.

I'm hoping she's still available in 2 months.

If not...it is what it is.

:fl :fl. She's not a puppy, a special breed, so may not be on the "preferred" list for lookers. You might luck out!!! Here's hoping 😉

Guess there's no taking her to work :hide:idunno

That was one good thing about our own business! Heck yeah...I even took bottle babes with me.

I went outside, did some therapeutic digging.

All seeds and plants are in!
1000043353.jpg

Carrots

1000043352.jpg

More turnips, and beets

1000043359.jpg

Arugula and more collards transplanted, cabbage seedlings are in the far bed.

1000043355.jpg

Carrots planted around the milkweed are finally up!

1000043357.jpg

Swiss chard is taking off!
(yes, I need to weed)

1000043358.jpg

First planting of turnips and peas (blossoming)

1000043356.jpg

Collards and Chinese cabbage. Plum tomatoes in the back are STILL producing, though most of the tomatoes are small.

We have 4-5 weeks until our first average frost, but I can put my cattle panel trellises over the beds and cover with plastic if needed. Really cold weather doesn't generally arrive until January.

Nooo. I work in a state-owned building. And many of the physicians are Muslims, dogs are unclean.
