I'll need that chicken coop again in the spring when I raise Cornish Cross again. I actually have "parts" to a hoop type tunnel greenhouse that I bought off craigslist.........trying to remember when, it was when we lived in Lindale. It was in rough shape, probably parts missing, but enough for me to do my magic tricks with. It has a future. A bargain at $50!

Winter project that I can't quite get started on, is to tear down a shed, clear blackberry canes out of the old roping chute, take down roping chute, pull railroad ties out of the ground that were part of a round pen, move, block and level two 40' high cube shipping containers. I have 40' span old commercial chicken house trusses that will be welded onto the shipping containers, then roof attached to make a barn, hay barn, tractor barn, but first of all a barn for the sheep. I want 20' lean to's off each side and a solid back to the barn. This is where the greenhouse parts will come in. The back of the shipping containers and barn will be on the south side and I'll figure out a way to build a green house up against the back side of the barn.

WHEW!!!! That's a LOT to get done. I need to get started, but just can't seem to get there. Five doctor appointments for SIL this week, and I went for a super bag of feed yesterday, 1.104 pounds I'm just freaking tired. I'm staying on the run and not getting anything done here. Oh well. I think SIL is getting close to being able to get back to driving and doing things on her own. Her son put up a ramp at her house, but left off the hand rails. I may have to go put those up myself to give her something to hang onto, navigating using her prosthetic leg. She's scared of going down the ramp with the leg. A couple days ago, she went up the ramp with me behind her.

Well this turned into a book...... but that's why I can't use the chicken coop hoop for a greenhouse. But I did plant a couple of cucumber plants and two tomato plants in it over the summer. I got enough cucumbers for a batch of pickles and a tasty tomato every so often.

Sometimes other things become more important and we put things on the back burner.. You've been a real blessing to your SIL. The one thing you have going for you there, is that the weather will be alot more friendly to working outside for awhile... not so cotton pickin hot. Once she gets able to go and do more for herself, you can jump into what you want to work on and be able to work at a better pace without the heat being so oppressive.
I get the helping out... and I admire you for it. The maddening thing is that when you want to achieve certain things, it seems like there is not enough energy and time as we get older to get them done. And wanting to get them done so we can enjoy them for a bit of our life. We just don't don't work as fast as we did... it just is frustrating....

If it weren't for her yellow legs I'd breed from her.
