Here's the case, maybe you guys can help:

Boer doe. Born beginning of Sept.
She isn't gaining weight as fast as her sister (this girl was the smallest anyway, but she is starting to look skinny).
She is eating fine, poop is normal. I'll check her temp when I get home. The other 2 kids she is pastured with are fine. It has been stupidly warm for December, so I'm assuming cocci. again.

She seems to be weak. She tripped me the other day - I fell one way, she fell the other, I got up, she didn't. She just laid there and flailed her legs a little. I had to help her up. Recently, she has been standing around hanging her head, not as bouncy as normal. Her eye lids are a little pale, but they do still have color.

They are eating a mix of calf DC flakes (with decoquinate) and a 20% dairy pellet. I started the calf flakes when it started getting warm, per a breeder that I trust, because of the cocci. issue - to try to prevent it before I had issues.

Other than having a fecal run and moving pastures, any advice on what I should do with/give her? I have had NO luck this year with the cocci issue and I will admit, I am getting quite ticked off about it. I've lost 4 kids to it already this year, and that was with treating when they showed symptoms. It's very frustrating when the drugs don't work.
I'm thinking on making a vet appointment to be safe.

It could be cocci, but you said her eyes were a little pale. That means worms. They should be nice a dark pink, close to red. Do you have a FAMACHA chart to compare it to? Since this seems to be an ongoing issue, I recomend you do some testing in addition to treating.

My suggestion:
Treat for both cocci and worms immediatly.
Get a fecal run with a sample taken either right before or very soon after treatment (within a day)
If the fecal shows one or both, wait 10 days after treatment and have another fecal run. This will show if your treatment is effective.
If you do not have a 90% reduction, your drugs are either too low a dose or not working.

I agree. Sounds like you may be dealing with barberpole in addition to the cocci that you originally had.

when was the last time you wormed her?

I would
treat with safegaurd or valbazene 3 days in a row.

I haven't. I don't treat unless they are showing symptoms/they eyelids are pale. This girl had been fine up until this week.

After reading about barberpole worms, I'm thinking that might be what it is.

So as a plan of action - red cell, safeguard, and some sort of cocci. treatment. I'm looking into Albon/Sulmet. 3 days for the de-worming, 5 days for the cocci. treatment.
Does that sound alright? Anything I should give to help boost her immune system? I have probios, vit. B, and another vit. rich supplement that I can give.

Thanks again!

I'd do Red cell, Safeguard, Ivomec and Albon personally.

Treat for worms and coccidia, but don't get absolutely locked into thinking it's barberpole. If the grass has pretty much quit growing where you live, barberpole *should* be going into dormancy right about now, which means they shouldn't be causing too many problems. Plus, coccidia are also blood suckers and can lead to anemia..

I would be getting a good fecal done. Not just a quick fecal float. Then you get a better idea of what worms she does have. Like Emac (type of coccidia) doesn't show up on the typical fecal test. A longer test has to be done.

Is she eating? Have you actually seen this goat nurse and eat?

sometimes the doe refuses a kid for whatever reason and you don't notice they are not eating. Happened to me.

but since it is 'about' 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 months old I would definitely do the fecal. The kid needs help fast. While it was waning you should jump in before and find a cause to this problem. Kids are either perfectly healthy and have the bounce and are eating perfect, or they are waning and we let it go. Don't let it go.

kids don't normally need to be wormed before 3 mos. of age because they are on their mom and only mouthing food. So wormer before 3 mos. is almost unless. A fecal should be done now to see if their is a problem.

could be starvation tho also.

She's weaned and eating grain. I see her eating - they get fed 2ce a day, and I keep an eye on them to make sure they are each getting enough - there are 3 kids total in that pen, so I make sure no one is getting pushed away from the feeder. She is getting plenty of hay as well.
I have also been seeing normal poops from her. Not even clumpy. Perfect little baby pellets.
She is a few days over 3 months old.

I do want to add again - it has been VERY warm/wet for the past week or so. I wouldn't be surprised if it were cocci. I've been having problems with it all year, so it's really no surprise. I'm going to have to bring a fecal to the vet on Thursday. That is the soonest I am going to be over there. I could only find Corid in the store, but we all know how well corid works.
Hopefully the decoquinate in the food will be good enough until Thursday.
I picked up some redcell and safeguard. I have ivomec on hand already. I'll also give her some of the vitamin supplements I have to hold her until I get the vet to do a fecal.

Thanks again all!
