Great. Took long enough. I want to keep some more hens and process extra boys.

It is a dirty job at its best. I stopped plucking and started skinning since even the younger roosters tend to be tougher and end up in the crock pot anyway so I don't need the skin on for that. It's definitely much faster to process them that way.

Yep! They'll be skinned if I harvest. I'll can the meat, that tenderizes it. But I get $14-18 per head at auction, so if I don't "need" the meat I sell. Buys feed.

I'd love to keep a milk cow & AI her to beef. But back to don't need that much beef OR milk. So goaties here instead. Dairy & meat. Practical & no buyers for half a steer to deal with.
