Don't open the freezer (you already know that) You ~should be ok for awhile - but I don't know how warm your barn gets during the day. Not a good answer - but a lot of heavy duty extension cords(if your barn is "close" to the house - and plugged in only when you can be there and watch. Or a generator? Sucky weekend for it to happen.

That was an expensive lesson one of these goes to the barns. It was tripped.
Now I know where to look.

He charged me over $900 just to flip the breaker. But since he was there, and it was included, I had him update some of the breakers in the barn. I feel stupid. I should have known to look there. I was freaking out about my beef.

There was a reason. Now the breakers are updated, you won't have to worry about that.

I had a freezer go down with a side of beef in it during Covid. I called every store and found a freezer, they had just unloaded the truck and only got 6. I told them put my name on one, I’m on my way. Later a neighbor came over and found a rat had chewed the wires and put them back together. It was on the screened in porch. He tried to make me feel foolish for hitting the panic button but in my mind, I did the right thing. When half a cow is going to thaw out, anything goes.
