Hello we are new to goats but have had horses. We always paid the vet to vax the horses because we wanted the record keeping for when we sold the horse. But these goats... I don't really need to produce documents with that level of detail for them if/when we sell them. Can anyone advise if hubby and I can vax the goats ourselves? If so can I purchase the @ TSC or some other similar store?

Even though the vet vaxed the horses we did give our horses shots on occasion.

Yes you can vaccinate your own animals. For sheep and goats, the universally recommended vaccine is CD/T which is given once per year, usually 30 days pre-lambing or kidding. Or if your animal isn't pregnant, just whenever is convenient as long as it is roughly a year a part.

The CD/T vaccination is given sub Q -- here's a video I made that shows how to give a subQ injection: http://twinwillowacres.webs.com/basic-shepherding
