Loving the herd life
reading the body language of the animals in that video clip... that was just some playfull sparing, not a fight at all. Peacocks fight with their feet, like a rooster. And the goat in the clip was being very cute how he lowered his head and slowly walked toward the bird. He just wanted to play.
As for who starts it at my house..... probably the goats. But only if food is involved. if the goats get too pushy the peacocks just leave. Usually they all just ignore each other.
My photo - I was trying to get a shot of that male peacok with his brand new train (they drop those long feathers after breeding season). It was January, and I hadnt seen him display since the fall. Apparently Elvira had not seen him display either, and walked up to check him out. He of course loved the attention so he continued flirting with her. I was thrilled I had the camera for that photo op.
