Goat worming???

I have a question about worming?? I copple years ago i noticed my goat had lice, and someone told me that vermectin horse wormer will get ride of the lice and worm her at the same time??? Is this true?? and also i am breeding my goats when should i worm the babies and what should i use for wormer if the horse wormer dosent work?? another question does the livestock dust work??? to get rid of lice??

You can use horse ivermectin...it's not bad for dosing one or two goats but if you've got to do a whole herd it's not as cost effective as the cattle ivomec. With the horse paste, you will have to dose three times the regular dose, so if it is a hundred pound goat, you will pretend it is a 300 pound goat and treat it with that amount. It will kill lice usually, though I have found there is a strain here that is immune to it. It may or may not work for your goats as a wormer, it depends on your worms and their resistance and what species you are dealing with.
