hi! So I have 2 goats, a Nigerian Dwarf and an Alpine baby(ish. Not sure of her age). The Alpine has horns growing in, only about an inch long. The Dwarf doesn't really have any horns, they're really small.
When they play together, sometimes the Alpine (Hershey) will hurt the Dwarf (Coza). I've noticed a little bit of dried blood on Hershey's horn, and Cozas head has some scrapes/dried blood.
I don't want to dehorn, I'm just wondering if I should be concerned, or if I should treat Coza at all.
Thanks!!

I dont think this is a horn/dehorn issue. If i am understanding, your dwarf has scurrs. My saanen has scurrs, they curl and hang funny, dont look like much of a horn at all and are only a few inches long (his have been growing for 2 years). When we got our ram (polled), those two butted heads for HOURS. My saanen, Sven, would scream and shake his head before going right back at it. there was blood EVERYWHERE when they would do this. They stopped doig it daily and once every couple weeks would get into it again.

I preferred when Sven would butt heads with my horned girls. It would break the scurrs off and, though bloody, he would play without pain again for a couple weeks.

I hate the scurrs, and they are the primary reason i wont dehorn.

yeah it looks like the does have scurs.
Should I just let them keep doing that, even though Coza gets a little scuffed up? Do I just leave them be, or is there something I should do about it?

You can take the scurred one into your vet and have them do another dehorn to try and get rid of the scurrs, but talk to then about the pros and cons. Goats butt heads their whole lives and whether the other goat is dehorned or not, it will always hurt the goat with scurrs.

Yeah I'll probably just let them go, and if they fall off I'll treat them then.
Thank you!
