I am new to the whole backyard farm thing and we just got started with some chickens. My wife and I are thinking about getting some dairy goats. I look forward to reading all of the great info on this site.

We have learned alot about chickens from BYC and now have about 50+ chickens in the back. We hope to learn all we need to know about goats so when we decide to get them we are ready.

Where in SW MI? We're in extreme south-central MI (right on the IN & OH lines) & have been trying our hands at this homesteading thing for just over 11 years, now. Lots of hard work, but we love it!

We are about 10 miles west of kalamazoo and are trying to be a little more self sufficient. We love our chickens and are trying to choose the next step.
