Hope everyone is doing well!

I wanted to wait until I had my goats, to join up, but I couldn’t wait that long, and I also need advice up front before anything takes place. I’ll make a post about that in particular.

For now, I just wanted to say hello.

I live in Loxahatchee, Florida. Im in the process of looking for Nubian kids, 2 females. I’m not sure where to look exactly, or where to go. Hope some folks from around the area could help out.

Ya’ll have a good one.

Welcome to BYH, from Florida,..... we have nigerian dwarf goats. ...and are about four hours north of you. You will find the prices down your way a bit higher , but will have a wider selection of quality breeders. OCALA fl., is also another good area to look, congradulatios on choosing goats,...joyful little critters :weee

Thanks a lot. I will definitely be looking around Ocala then. I was told now is the time to buy, since spring kids will be here soon. I don’t want to miss it, although I still need to build the shed and put up better fencing :(

Get on that last part ASAP. Don't want your goats wandering the neighborhood! And there is nothing wrong with joining here before you get animals. In fact research BEFORE is way better than crisis management after.

:welcome

Thank you. Yeah, that's what I thought, I always like doing my research before hand, and be ultimately prepared. I grew up around livestock, but I was too young to know what it took to care for them and maintain them, but I have the basics. I need to learn much more still. And for the fencing, I read earlier here that a field fence is a good choice, I'm thinking 6 foot fence would hopefully keep happy goats in.

If you listen to @Baymule, you get the livestock first, then figure out where to put them. You'll figure it out. :yesss:
