Carson has had those sneaky birthdays and another one is coming up in a few weeks.
They sneak up on us - then suddenly you notice the gray hairs on the muzzles of your dearcanine and equine friends and realize that they have aged faster than you. So many of mine have walked the golden road. Hopefully they will be waiting when I walk that road.

I took Carson to the feed store Monday. He loves to go in the truck and dances when I lock the front door and get my purse. If I lock the front door, that means I’m not putting him out in the front yard, he reads my movements and knows what they mean.

Dogs live in the moment. Right now, this moment! There are past moments and memories, but there is no tomorrow for a dog. The wild excitement today will be wild excitement again tomorrow. I guess that’s why we love them so much.

Carson has been asking to go outside at night. Only problem with that, he likes to bark with the Anatolians and continues to bark long after they stop. The front porch is right next to my bedroom window, so guess who gets that 2 AM wake up barking frenzy? One night I got up, grabbed a flashlight and went outside. I let him out of the yard and he ran around with his nose to the ground. The Anatolians were still barking, in the direction of behind the house. Carson started circling my car. Huddled under the car was a young armadillo. I called Carson off and we went in the house. A few days later I found a dead armadillo in the middle field, pretty sure Buford took care of that. One of my neighbor's has shot two. I have nothing against armadillos and wish the dogs didn't see them as a threat. I wish the neighbor didn't shoot them but I can understand, his dogs go barking nuts too. He and his wife are in their 50's, got to get up and go to work and who likes a few hours of missing sleep? Carson has been quiet the past few nights. Ahhhh, blessed sleep!

Scrolling through pictures on my phone and decided to post a bunch of pictures. Random pictures of Carson, in some he is in the background, photobombing. He is always there, near me or where he can see me. I love that goofy dog!
