I don't think I'm checking the garden often enough... found these today. Broke my scissors trying to cut the zucchini. Not sure if the pumpkins were done, but they hadn't increased in size at all recently so I took them off. There's more still growing on the vines.

A trip to ER with a child is always traumatic. I’m glad it wasn’t worse. Giving up his binky didn’t make it any better but at least it wasn’t terrible for him.

That’s a pretty good harvest you got, for not expecting one.

I scoop & stuff those sneaky zucs 😁
We are probably going to have to try that. I managed to give almost all of them to friends or friends of friends. I think there's a lot of baking going to happen.

It rained last night. Weather is starting to get colder finally, should help with the electricity bill.

Kid 1 is 4 today. Time is flying by.

You can make zucchini candy!
I have your recipe saved, just have to find where I saved it lol.

I finally got my trellis up for the beans I'm trying to grow. Hopefully they take to it ok. Had to kinda grab the vines and manually weave them up it a bit. Definitely needed to get it in place about a month ago. They are supposed to be soup beans, which I think means they are supposed to dry on the vines. I planted 12 beans, 8 plants made it into the garden, so anything over 8 beans would be an increase lol.

Need to remember to start the water system tomorrow, I had turned it off Thursday since it was raining.

Sneaky pumpkin.

Beans on the new trellis. Trellis got installed yesterday, beans have pods already growing. Hubby is adamant that the trellis will fall apart in just a few seasons. He's not understanding that even if that's the case, it's still better than no trellis at all.

The pepper plants look happier, dunno if they'll produce anything before the weather gets too cold.

I remembered to turn the water back on!

The trellis was made with 1x2s and electric fence wiring. If the frame had been made of metal instead of wood, it would last a very long time. Hubby says we should have used a hog panel instead. I didn't want to pay $30-40 for a single 16' panel and then cut it for a trellis.
