I was talking to my mom and she said that she was hoping that my husband and I would stop by on our way home from Boomtown so she can help me can the pumpkins and pomegranates. I told her that we're not going because there's too much paranoia in my mind right now. So she said that's okay I will still come up to help but I need a ride. I'm so excited to be able to can with my momma. 😁😁😁❤️🥰

We're working on canning the pumpkin. I was going to try to finish it on my own after my mom goes home but she explained the pressure cooker and I said oh uhh I don't know if I can do that because I am quite paranoid about the word pressure so she said she will come back and finish it with me.

Nice!

I've never canned, BUT I did buy a case of Ball jars and lids a few years ago.

More stuff to do once I retire.
I have been so scared of trying to can because I know that it could be deadly if it's not done properly. My mom showed me the process start to finish and I just said really it's that easy. She said yes baby it's that easy. Tomorrow I am going to get started on canning the rest of the pumpkins and then I'll be starting on the pomegranates. I'm so excited to see how it turns out for me.

The biggest key thing in canning is to follow trusted safe recipes. The Ball canning book, USDA book(s), etc. There are some things you can substitute but not really a lot. @murphysranch is an MFP (Master Food Preserver) - she can help with that. Most states extension offices have programs for MFP -- it's like the Master Gardener program that everyone knows about - LOL just for safe food preservation.
