Baby chicks appeal to almost everyone. I had eggs in the incubator one time and was lucky enough to have my granddaughters for the weekend and they were hatching! They got to see the magic of a tiny pip, then more pecks at the shell and a wet bedraggled chick come crawling out, to be transformed into a bright, alert, ball of fluff.

It's only been 7 months since I moved here, but this town is unique. This update isn't livestock related, but still feels worth sharing.
The last snowcoach pulled out of Yellowstone yesterday afternoon. And with that, the winter season has come to an end. Businesses have closed for a break. Most for the month that Yellowstone is closed, they’ll rest too. As a town, we’ll take a deep breath. Many will go visit relatives out of town. We’ll gather at the post office periodically, and for this month, we will know most of the cars we do see driving through town. The craziness and fun of the summer season is coming, but for the next 30 days, we will just be small town America.
At the same time, the high school basketball season came to an end this weekend. Small town America, these kids are our pride and joy. The town is headed into hiding. We cherish the memories from the winter, and are grateful for the celebrations that brought us together. Summer season is only a month away. We'll welcome 10x our population in visitors daily then. It's all a fun balance.

I will try and share some wildlife photos soon. The Winter Season has been fun but also intense. Summer will be a different level of busy, but I love this tourist town.

We don't. We have spring break coming soon, mostly business owners if anyone, who actually leaves.
Our school year attempts to time with peak park season, so we don't take many days off in the middle of the year so we can have a long summer and we can work other jobs in the summer.
