You've done well. Congrats on getting it done and thank you for letting us know how it went.
I don't know about the others, but for me I have a certain detachment for those that will either be local freezer lambs or go to the auction. They all get treated the same, all get their animal crackers and scritches on the head, nose, etc. but that detachment is there. I generally don't keep ram lambs, so that's a start. But HA rules are made to be broken and I kept two this last time around. Ewes have to either have a certain something or have color. Then things come into play like how well they work with the dogs going out to graze. It's a constant evaluation.
Like @Baymule said all of our lambs have far better lives than what you'll get at the grocery store. ROTFL kind of not that I'd buy at the grocery store with their outlandish prices. $25-35 for two little lamb chops. Ummm sadly that would not make it into my cart.
You did well, you had the right processor, you raised them well, you researched, and a lot that went unsaid.
WTG on a job well done. This may or may not end up being something you want to continue, but you have learned a lot. Time will tell.
