Sybil’s child

She didn’t clean him off super well, but she loves him. She’s a very loud mother and is constantly screaming when she looses sight of him for a split second.

P-Ewe and Eugenie look ready to burst, but are still holding out. Lizzie should be going sometime soon as well.

From there on we have:
Addie (BL)
Lise (BL)
Pamina (BL)
Edith (Shetland)
Fuchsia (yearling Shetland)
Fern (yearling Shetland)

The last breeding I have marked down for Lise puts her due date at 3/5. We’ve obviously missed that by a lot. Pamina was due 3/21 so she could still go soon, but she’s not looking super ready. Addie was supposed to be due 3/28, but she’s not looking like she’ll go this week. She’s got an udder, but it looks like a “month to go” udder.

Edith is on track for her 4/16 date and the little girls aren’t due until 5/9.

If Addie hasn’t lambed by 4/20, then she’s probably bred to baby Corduroy for the same time as the little girls. I did see him on camera all over one of the white Border Leicesters, but I couldn’t get a clear picture of which one it was. At the time, I assumed it was Imogen. She’d had some bloody discharged a few weeks prior and I thought she’d lost her lambs.

P-Ewe lambed this evening. Big single boy. Technically there were twins, but the 2nd had stopped growing and died a while ago. She must get really full of amniotic fluid when she’s pregnant and that’s what makes her seem so big. When her water broke, it came gushing out and it was probably a couple gallons worth. Got all over a lamb standing behind her at the time. I had it all over my arm and in my shoes.

Baby was pointing the right direction, but was slightly mispositioned and she needed a bit of help get him sorted out.

He’s a big boy at almost 10lbs.

I can’t remember if I mentioned this already, but I’m not planning to dock any of the crossbred lamb tails unless they are longer than their hocks or really wooly or floppy.

This boy is a good example why I’m trying not docking this year. His tail is short and he has strong control of it. Full Border Leicesters can’t pick their tails up that high.
