This is my first year milking,, I just started milking my one doe 2xs a day 4 days ago cause her last baby left.... I read where you should weigh the milk but I am not sure when to worry if she isnt procucing enough milk cause of something wrong.

Here is wht she has been giving so far.... She is a Nigerian Dwarf.. her first year milking but not happy w/ it so far.. I have to put a bucket under her to keep her from laying down... this was her 4th freshning. she was very upset after her babies left!! is she doing good or not? thx

I can't give any technical advice just moral support...have faith and keep trying! Our does were SNOTS about it at first and last night....drum roll...NO BUCKET NEEDED! (We too did the bucket trick since they wanted to lay down on the job). It gets better, it really does :)

You're doing good! Especially if she's raised kids, because usually production isn't what it COULD have been after 8 weeks of babies...

The average is 2-3 lbs a day for Nigis...with some doing less and some doing more.

Man, I really need to breed to up production on my girls! I would love it if they were giving that much per milking/day! I get about 21-25oz/day from one and 25-30oz/day from the other. I think moving them while in milk and learning how to milk on them killed their supply though.
