Holy crud. Hope that antibiotics kick in fast and knock everything out. We all seem to be bruise machines lately - goes with that we don't bounce as well as we used to.
You need to rest YOU -- let someone else cook & do chores for a while. Pneumonia isn't to be messed with. Too much back to back work & travel. But, I get it!! Sometimes there's little choice but work it.
If you have Arnicare, rub it into the bruises and they will fade away faster. Not to mention that Arnicare will help with the soreness! Please do take care of yourself and get your rest. BJ and I both had a bad case of Covid, but he went into pneumonia and that’s what killed him.
Got the results of the CT. Apparently I also have a hiatal herna. I looked it up. Part of your stomach pushes through a hole into the diaphragm. This causes shortness of breath since it is pushing on the diahragm, heartburn, and acid reflux from the stomach and acid coming into the esophagus. It also causes vomiting. This would explain why sometimes I start eating then have to run to the toilet because everything comes up. It also explains why I often have no appetite and eat little (but not why I don't lose weight!). Causes can be extreme coughing, age, etc. It can also lead to pneumonia when the acid reflux gets inhaled.
The doctor said I probably need surgery to repair it. I am fed up with having surgeries. I will have to think about this for a while. Maybe not change our insurance yet since the PPO means we pay part of any medical costs while our HMO means we pay nothing. It would mean going back to CA for surgery but paying nothing is good.
Surgery is coming your way. You may be tired of surgeries, but this is one you probably don’t want to miss.
How much would you have to pay having surgery here on the PPO, versus the cost of going back to California plus the inconvenience and time away from home. The key word is home. California is not home anymore. Do you want to recuperate in a house that is no longer home, with another family living in it, or do you want to recuperate at HOME. Miserable in one place, happy in the other. Your choice. Sometimes happiness is worth the money.
Yikes! Sure explains a lot. Wonder if there is any kind of PT that you can do. I know for a prolapse PT can be done to help improve and avoid surgery (and they push surgery - obviously way different). Wonder - hmmm.
