I thought I posted a picture of it.

It holds one bale on it's side. You can also get a 2 bale size. The spacing is wider for cows and calves so I will probably line it with cow panels or leftover 6"x6" fence wire. It keeps the hay up off the ground and if I line it, will keep the hay inside and not scattered and trampled. I think I eventually want to have one in each pasture so I don't have to move them around as I move the sheep, but since we only feed hay while the grass is not growing, maybe just one for the rams and one for the winter dry lot. I need to see how we like it. We unloaded it from the truck with the tractor and can drag it from place to place. It also comes apart so the side and center panels can be stacked to move them. It is made by Metro Gate in Paris. If you contact them they will give you a dealer near you.

DS1 ordered the new hay spear yesterday, and then we put up the vinyl outdoor cabinet for our muck boots. It lives on the patio next to the door. No more pile of boots ad shoes in front of the fireplace. :D =D Floor stays cleaner because we are not tracking mud and dirt into the house. The laundry room is not usable as a mudroom. Eventually we will screen in the small patio off the living room and use it as a mudroom, and maybe build in a larger covered deck. The front porch would be lovely to sit on, but with the highway it gets pretty noisy. :(

DS1 has had some sort of cold thing but is feeling better now and will be starting the next fences today or tomorrow. He figures he will have them in by the time he and DH head for California to pick up another load of our belongings. We left a lot of stuff there because we did not have anywhere to store it. With the conex boxes we wil be able to sort and store our stuff. We will get the final load in January when we list the house. I will have some cleaning and partial painting to do in the house. I told DH that I would try to find a house/sheepsitter so we could all go back. That way we can use DS2's truck to haul back a rental trailer and get the property completely cleaned out. :fl DS2 and DDIL2 will continue to live there until the house sells and escrow closes. I'm not leaving it empty.

I have the front of Baby Alexander's Christmas stocking appliqued and ready to start beading After that is done I will sew the front and back together, put the lining and cuff on, and it will be finished. It is probably the last grandchild Christmas stocking I will make. Each of the kids have their own Christmas calendar hanging with the handmade ornaments to hang up each day until December 24. Mine will go to DS1 who isn't married. If they had learned to sew the kids could make their own for their children. LOL

My computer keeps freezng but it says the "website is not responding". I am not sure if it is the website when I first log on or my computer. The screen on my laptop has a crack and I probably need a new one but am reluctant to spend the money. Maybe I will ask all my kids for Amazon gift certificates for Christmas and then DS1 and DSIL1 can find me a good laptop. The Black Friday sales are coming up as well. I don't play games but need storage since I do all the business correspondence on my computer.

Finally got several hours of rain yesterday. Cody hasn't taken his second cutting yet, but that could be because we haven't had much rain and it hasn't grown enough. Not sure. Everybody seems to have plenty of hay since so many cows have been sold so mybe he isn't goig to rush to get second cutting. We still have plenty of grazing in the areas we still need to put rotational fencing on as well. I need to call him and ask about the secin cutting since I want to buy my winter hay.

The tractor has arrived at the Massey-Ferguson dealer and they are putting on the 3rd function and the other stuff. DS1 called and told them not to change out the Ag tires for industrial. No point in having farmer friends with experience if you ignore their advice when you ask them for it! Cody and his family were in Colorado hunting elk but also said to keep the Ag tires when they got my text. The dealer keeps sending DS1 videos of what they are doing to the tractor. LOL

DS1 was at the Yantis tire shop and got talking to an older farmer who said he had a Massey Ferguson tractor, 25 year old, 90 HP, that was still running great. MF used to have a dealer n Sulphur Springs until several years ago. He told DS1 that the 60HP model was big enough to run a small bale baler. He also said that those small square bales were easy to sell out of the field to small livestock and horse people. DS1 said that he would eventually do a small hay operation and sell off most of the sheep when we are gone. May look into buying that additional 30 acres after all. Have to see what the interest rate drops to and what we could get it for after we sell our house. Luckily our empty lot in California could be rolled over to buy that property as like kind in a 1031 exchange to avoid taxes.

Yesterday DH was talking to his cousin who was a diesel mechanic for many years in Colorado and had his own shop. He said that Massey Ferguson has some of the best engines, reliable and not needing much in repairs. Super happy to hear that. The boys are waiting to play with their toy. DS1 ordered a front attachment that converts from pallet forks to a hay spear. They put it together yesterday.

Monday we all went and cleaned out the barn. We moved the tractor sprayer over to the side barn, along with the heavier sheep equipment- sorter, feeders, etc. DH is going to try to grade out the barn floor. The dogs have dug huge holes in the dirt which are endangering life and limb. DS1 and DH hope to fill those in and then put down our big stall mats in the areas we don't want them to dig again. I have to wash out all the buckets and empty protein tubs so they will be ready for the lambing jugs. I use the protein tubs for hay feeders. DS1 will put in the next two rows of fencing as soon as the tractor arrives. Probably Friday. I want to move the sheep asap. Will worm them before moving them into the new pastures. We as have to set up a corral for the sheep that are due to lamb while DH and DS1 are in California.

I spet Tuesday morning working with the women's Guild putting together baskets for our upcoming auction and BBQ on October 4. Went to Brookshires to buy donuts and saw a flyer that the Cattemen's Association is putting on a BBQ the same day in the town square! :ep Steaks and prime rib, tickets are $20! Not good news for us since our auction and dinner is a major fundraiser for our church. I was going to buy extra tickets (ours are $15) for some friends to attend. I will have to call them ahead of time and make sure they are not going to the Cattlemen's do. DS1 said he would go to the Cattemen's dinner for steak and then come to the Auction for Margheritas! Traitor!

I finished the Christmas stocking for Baby Alexander.

Lots of bead work on this one. It looked a bit plain so I beaded all the holly leaves and berries in the cuff. This is probably the last Christmas stocking I will make for a grandchild. I don't think my kids are planning to have any more kids. DD2 said she would like another baby (she is only in her late 20's) but little Annabel is autistic, tested at spectrum 3 which is one of the worst. Annabel is 4 1/2 years old, just now learning to talk and not potty trained. She is such a loving little girl, affectionate, and so pretty. Love her so much. I wish they could afford to send her to a special school for autistic children. They are thinking now about moving closer to Dallas/Fort Worth to find a good public school with special ed for autistic kids since mainstreaming her into kindergarten next yaer would not be a good option.

Anyway, the tractor people texted and said they are waiting for the 3rd function parts. They should arrive today or tomorrow. No tractor today or tomorrow so DS1 and DH decided to cut some intrusive branches off some of the trees in the yard. They will wait until the tractor arrives to do the larger trees around the barn. Everything is going into the burn pile, but I think they would be better spreading the stuff between several burn piles. However, I am a mere woman whose only function is to watch my strong men admiringly -

AND SAY "I TOLD YOU SO" WHEN IT GETS TOO BIG! :barnie Oh well, we have hoses and well water, a blower to blow burning trash back into the conflagration, and cell phones for the 911 call.

After they get through cutting the branches off, they will come inside and DS1 wants to move all the office furniture into the new arrangement he planned. Since he has to do most of the moving I said ok. At least we can get the second vertical 4 drawer file cabinet into the office. DS1 finally got it out of the 5th wheel trailer and I need the file space. I prefer paper file records, and use some of the drawers for other storage - cables, etc.

Tomorrow we play duplicate bridge in Minneola. I have to remember to get bread on the way home since we are almost out and I made tuna salad for Saturday's sandwiches. We are meeting with @Baymule at the Texas Grazing Association meeting in Yantis. She is bringing Katahdin info passouts. I am bringing the table and chairs, and some passouts from the American Lamb Association. The Dorper Society has what they call a "Fair Box" with passouts about Dorpers, but I called too late to get it for this meeting. Looking forward to seeing Bay. If anyone else in our neck of the woods (or pasture) wants to come, the address is 126 West Oak, Yantis, TX. No reservation needed, bring a lunch.

I laughed, loved and l admired your post.

For the laugh. My husband was burning, I told him if the fire department showed up, I was going inside and he was on his own! SMH :idunno

That stocking is beautiful.

Your little Annabel sounds to be the same as our grandson Declan, 5 and granddaughter Charlie, 2.5. He is finally talking more, but still is not potty trained. Charlie is still not talking or potty trained. Beautiful and precious baby's. 💔💗

You girls have fun. 💗

Our 1964 Massey Ferguson, it's the same age as me!

The tractor arrived this morning while we were playing bridge in Minneola. (Best bridge hands I ever held BTW!) DS1 didn't tell us it was coming and he hid it behind the conexes so we couldn't see it when we arrived. While he waited for us to get home he attached the auger ready for work. When we got home he took DH out and surprised him. DH got right in the cab. I think this tractor cab may become his "man-cave". LOL

Now they can get the next lengths of electric fencing up. They are already clearing the tree limbs they cut yesterday onto the burn pile. I hope the novelty of a working tractor holds out until they finish the work!
