It was a fun morning today! New addition....

He settled in about a mile into the ride home. Kind of fun driving home with a lamb in the back.

An occasional baaaaaaaaa at a few stop lights - wondered if anyone heard - LOL especially since that was driving through some trendy places  .

Registered St Croix ram lamb. He's not too sure about me - LOL he had to be caught and carrier into the van - I'm good with a crook :). He will learn about animal crackers - either while he is separated, or by example. Since he's just one, I opted to let him see the other sheep. A few weeks ago it was the CA Red ewe and the lamb and they kept each other company. With just the single ram lamb I thought it would be best he sort of had some pals.
Not 100% sure where I'm going with all this - hair, wool, what-the-heck -- time will tell. Still raising for freezers, still grazing, all that stays the same.
Oh and that little red ewe lamb - OMG putting my hands on her is a feast for the fingers in the wool - sooo soft!!!

Still on the look out for a CA Red ram.
This guy is rather flighty  I've got my work cut out for me. So far (and it's not even 24 hrs) he may be starting to figure out I bring hay, sort of  he's not even ready to think about an animal cracker.

So now this month I've picked up three new sheep, two at once and the single. Both times it was a bit of a rodeo. So different than the way I do things. Both cases it's a catch 'em thing. Me, whichever sheep would be in a 4x4-ish pen on gate and ready to go. Such is life. Guessing that I'm the odd-ball in this.

I'm tempted to get a crook for the babes here. But generally my handling then first 3 days of life has made them approachable. There's always a couple who need wrangling 🤣 They seem surprised and offended when the old lady grabs them! Weight, as they age, can be a challenge for me. I've flipped a few and sat on them they, as they scream for moms. :old determination.
