Gooooooooooood Morning.
Had a surprise at the barn this morning. Twin ram lambs. Had to have been one of the ram lambs sewing oats the day before he was weaned. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. It's the only timing that works for this.
I'll admit a welcome surprise. Two more for the auction/private sale/freezer.
And they are big boys - 10.8 and 10.4 lbs !! And no - mama ewe did not look big. Perhaps a little tubby (my sheep tend to be a little plumpish).
So now - I think we're done until fall. Who knows?!

Just got back from training Sage and out and about, stopped at the barn to feed their lunch. Looked at the ewes outside and thought -- what the heck --- who let out the new mama ewe. Answer No one! Looks like maybe one more? If so it's going to make for a nice $$ later.

WOW! I haven't thought of star thistle in a few years. We had them everywhere in Murphys CA.
You lived in Murphys? My dad owned and ran the Texaco station up in Arnold for a couple of years when I was a kid. It didn't last long and was the most normal thing he ever did. That's where I had my first horse. 💗
