Pricess were actually pretty good but they have been for the last year or so. Also, we were happy to see that Jack (the yearling ram) sold as a ram so he will be moving to another farm. We had him listed from our place but the only takers were wanting a nice ram for pennies and we quit playing that game a long time ago. You can get better prices at the sale rather than the bottom feeders offers.

We had another example about what a difference a vacuum sealer makes in freezer storage. We do a pretty fair job of rotating through frozen items (actually Teresa does a good job) but we ran across a ribeye from early 2023. I cooked it on the grill tonight thinking that if it tasted old, the dogs would still like it.

You couldn't tell that steak was not frozen recently as it had zero off taste.

Been there, done that. You ask a reasonable price and "buyers" want to bargain, or offer pennies on the dollar and act like you should be grateful for their insulting offer. Whether I get more at the auction or not, I would rather sell there.
Geeze - I get that. I'm adding some new sheep in the next few weeks or so. I ask a price, they ay $X and if I like that I say OK, let me see the sheep before my final "I'll take them" and pay $X. I don't bargain I just think if it's what I'd ask or close I do it.

I love my vacuum sealer!

There are a lot of people with sheep now and they undercut their own selves. They don’t know enough to take culls to auction, especially if they are registered. They either sell way too cheap or try to get top price on everything instead selling the best, take rest to auction.
