Our Aussie has had a limp over the last few days but she has been slower getting around for the last couple of weeks. She is 11 years old and at first we attributed it to possibly being arthritis but we took her to the vet this morning. It turned out to be an aggressive form of bone cancer in her hip and right quarter. None of the options that Doc told us about were good and didn't offer a lot of positives due primarily to her age. We are opting to stick with pain management for as long as we can and will just let her be Sassy for whatever time we can keep her happy.

So sorry for you and her. The hardest thing is outliving some of our best friends. Whenever I get a new puppy, I always remember that my responsibility is not only to provide a good homeand love, but the responsibility for a gentle end. When that time comes know that we are with you.

I'm not sure how long it will last but Sassy is enjoying the extra attention. We got her a new sleeping bed and she knew as soon as we put it down, that it was hers. She got people food for supper since she wasn't the least bit interested in her kibble. Our priority now is to make sure that no matter how it goes, we need to make sure that whatever we do is for her and not us. She has been my baby for a long time and I will make her remaining time the best that I can make it.

Sassy is such a good girl. She is definitely your baby. I know she will get the best of care and be spoiled with loads of extra attention and all the people good she wants. You know we all are here for you and Teresa.

This is an every day/hour/minute counts. My Halo and I went to Burger King for lunch every day. She wasn't interested in the fries, and not so much the bun but that burger pattie was the best according to her.

The pain meds are doing the job. She is still playing tug with Lance and isn't showing any discomfort so we will keep going this way. If she stops play9ng we will rethink things.

I have had dogs for most of my life and have lived long enough to have lost many. Losing Sassy is proving to be one of the hardest to get through.

She follows me everywhere that I go and it is like she wants as many pets as she can get. She still plays with Lance but even that is slowing down.
