I destroyed the inside of my doublewide, ripping out all the trim, taping off and covering with plastic everything I didn't want sprayed. Sprayed everything with Kilz, the ceiling with white paint, then taped, floated, textured and painted. @Ridgetop and her husband were here for some of that, he and I did tape and float, while she put vinyl in the cabinets. I don't mind doing the tape, float and texture. I even went and helped a friend tape and float his house a couple of years ago.

I totally hate and despise those cutesy tiny prints on the plastic covered drywall in mobile homes.

Had a prediction of rain yesterday so I shut the job down half a day yesterday, but it dissipated so now the owner thinks it's fun to poke fun at me. I don't find it amusing that I don't want my tools wet, and I work less efficient in the rain which costs him is what I told him. Also told him unlike him I was still building when it was high winds to the point lumber laying on the floor was sliding. He replied back, I don't make $XX much an hour like you, I said yes you do, for every hour you help that is $XX you don't have to spend on me.
Some people don't understand till you point it out, and most don't have the balls to point it out. What are you going to do about it, fire me, heh go ahead, all the designing and engineering is in my possession and winter is here. Go find another contractor and his list of availability is further out than mine.

*Edit* Noticed that is a going trend out here; what are you going to do, fire me?

Several years ago, after I sold the farm in Lindale and moved to my son's house that needed everything, I hired a guy to fix it. I told him I was his helper and don't be afraid to tell me what to do. We worked well together, I stayed out of his way and managed to get a lot done by working around him. We did inside and outside. There was no soffit under the eaves of the house, why there was no family of raccoons living in the attic, I don't know. I painted all the boards before he put them up, much easier than painting overhead.

Quiet honestly was or still am going to hire the wife onto this project. We work together and knows me best, problem of standing around drives her nuts which there would be a lot of that. At 5' and 100 lbs, she does have a limit.
This customer wonders off playing with the horses, goats or some appointment or need in town that could wait till house was dried in.
Took him 3 days so far and counting on getting stud plate connectors on all exterior wall studs. The wife would of taken the day. Also complains like a baby; do I have to do all these studs, it's so boring, don't need all these nails or connectors, don't need a connector here. M****r F*****r yes you do need to put all these on every stud. Then I go behind him as he is going making sure there is a nail in each hole as he misses a few or misses a stud.
Here is the connectors he has to put on, there is about 110 of them and I have a palm nailer he uses.

rolls my eyes....

Tell me, how do YOU find these losers/idiots/do nuthin' customers???
Simple, move out to the most desolate, undesirable, cheapest place with no rules and regulations. If you bought a place in Washington state 10 to 20 years ago and cashed out now, you now can buy land have a home built and be set for everything paid off out here with no mortgage so we don't have to do nothing. Some see the money they get from selling off think they are rich they can buy what they want as this customer is doing.
He thinks he can start a plumbing business out here, but doesn't know actual plumbing, just installing fixtures and that he can do it with no capital. Also thinks he can just be a tech at it :gig
Want to know my secret as I told him of why I'm successful... multifaceted skill set in multiple industries with ability to cross one over to another.
Simple example, you think I'm going to pull a nails out of a board I need to use elsewhere, screw that, grab my angle grinder for steel and cut them off, or trying to find all straight boards, nope I'm going to bend it straight and then put it in with pair of Channellocks or clamp it to a straight one and nail it straight.

Do mobile homes still have little plastic flowers on the ceilings, the ones that help anchor the screws?
