As mentioned in another thread, there is a certain look you get sometimes! It is a look you might want to avoid!

These are not my animals, but I do have one that "looks" exactly the black one on the right!. Mine is named named Waco!

A few months after this picture was taken, this black heifer got the whole herd upset. When the rest of herd bolted out of the feed barn, the guys best cow had her head in the feed bunk, she did not survive.

Oh is this the look I hear about. Meaning back off or get away. That is a sad story. Poor thing.

Biddieacres,
I have always called that the, I'm gonna run you over, OR I'm gonna head for the hills and take half the herd with me, look!

There is another look I have gotten, that I dont don't have a picture of, maybe some one else does? The straight necked, head cocked, "I'm gonna be the boss" look? Kinda like when 2 cows are getting ready to fight for their spot in the pecking order. It isn't bad when they are looking at another cow, but when they are looking at you, it ain't a good feeling!

man those looks mean trouble an problems.my bro got that look out in an open pasture on foot.an the dumb 700lb bull calf charged him.a week later he got that calf up with a club.an worked him over in the corral.an the next morning he was sent to the sale barn.ive got a cow that gives me the im gonna fight you bawl.i really pay her no mind though.

Oooh yes, that look in that black calf is one that I recognize right away...that "one more move and I'm headin' for the hills" look...head up, eyes BIG, ears cocked forward, and then they move cautiously away exactly like a deer does when it smells danger. And of course they keep an annoyingly close watch on you that is hard to ignore, especially when you've got your back turned!

...and that other calf on the left has got to have some herf in him/her, she has that 'calm herford" look in him/her, lol.

I think I have some pictures of a high-headed calf, but they wouldn't be on my computer, unfortunately...

Very good information thewife. I will try to explain this look to my kids. I can imagine but hope I never see it! :)

The brown cow on the left doesn't look as mad. Or is he? The black one almost looks like his eyes are poppin out and ears perked forward.
