My pregnant ewe has tiny red dots on her udder and skin around her udder. Our other sheep don't seem to have these dots. ALSO she has a growth that resembles a third nipple! Anyone seen anything like this?

The little red bumps are probably bug bites or irritation from the bedding.

That bump looks like a swollen gland/lymph node. I would worry about it too much right now, but keep an eye on it.

Thanks! I'll keep an eye out to make sure the (maybe) lymph node doesn't get bigger and maybe work on fly control in the barn!

Greetings @Lisa A from the front range in Colorado. Welcome to BYH! Hope your ewe clears up well and no further issues.

That's why watching it closely is a good idea. Sheep udders can get all sorts of weird bumps while lactating, but I've never had a ewe with lumps there.

It is in a rather suspicious place.

I thought so too and the size, and missing hair on it just looked very suspect.
@purplequeenvt if it is and this burst would you recommend lambs be pulled right away and ewe seperated ?... lambs will surely contract it and all the ewes would be exposed.
