I just want to know why does everyone love goats so much? Every farm forum always gets swamped with goat threads. What's so wrong with sheep?? Is their milk too fatty? Are they too cute and fluffy? Or are they too quiet and the whole jumping over the bed/counting sheep thing will make you sleep out in the pasture? Lol.

No offense, I just don't get all the hype..

Goats have TONS of personality, sheep are okay but... well.... very sheep like  :gig
Goats are very comical and you get a good laugh at least once a day, and laughter is good for the soul :clap

goats are very good at brush/weed control.

They have a ton of personality.

I tried to get my husband to raise sheep, but he had a flock of 40 or so ewes growing up that were his responxibility and he doesn't want anything to do with sheep again. He seems to really enjoy working with the goats. They truely do have more personality, Our show sheep we have in the summer for the fair, are kind of boring.

There is something in their skin. It's like crack cocaine. It affects the brain amines and makes you become addicted. Then next thing you know goats are all you can think about and talk about. You begin craving them. You wake up in the morning thinking about them. You smell a buck and want to go out and touch them.

Then next thing you know you are sitting at your computer for hours watching a goat named Cinnamon chew her cud while she slowly expands to the size of a basketball, and you wait for her to have kids. Nothing gets accomplished. Your household chores go undone. Your children sit at your feet and cry for help with their homework.

Be careful. IT's an ADDICTION! Don't drink the milk.

The size of a basketball? That goat is startign to generate a measureable gravitational force.

I got goats because I don't have to shear them, they come in a wide varity of colors and are fun to watch.

we got goats for briar and brush control, now the briars are gone, all the bushes are gone and about 50% of the cedar trees have been killed off. And we still have goats. I was really hoping that they wouldn't kill all the smaller trees and cedars.

Queen Mum has it described perfectly!!

I was out in the barn last night. All the goats are so FLUFFY. I buried my nose in Annie's coat, she smelled sooooooo good.
I thought it was just her, but no, they all smell delightful, so warm and fuzzy. It is an addicting kind of smell, kinda like DH smelled when we were dating...LOL.
